Light (AKA: Dark) is the Main Character of the Series.
Appearance[]
He has Dark Blue Hair and Yellow Eyes. He has the permanent appearance of a 13 year old child. For the majority of the series, he is shown wearing a hooded robe and carrying his staff: Divine Burial Gungnir.
Personality[]
He's a kind and a generous person, he doesn't like to kill without reason and is someone easy to approach, but after being betrayed by his comrades in the Abyss, he became hateful, ruthless and sadistic; he insisted on taking revenge on all of them and make them taste despair with his own hands no matter what the cost.
During his time training to reach LV 9999, he was shown to have retained his pure personality but nonetheless still had thoughts of revenge. Although Light is cruel at times, he does show compassion to those of his own race or his companions. He is shown to have extreme hatred toward his former companions and would do anything to make sure that he is the one to take them down. Because of this mindset, if anyone including his own companions try to steal his chance at revenge, he does not hesitate to display his rage and disdain for them.
His kind personality somewhat returned when he was reunited with his little sister Yume, as he displayed his vulnerability for the first time in a long time.
Story[]
Past[]
Light was a young human boy born to a couple of farmers. He wanted to provide a better life for his parents, his younger sister Yume, and Els, his older brother. However, his first employer cheated him to keep all the money, leaving him broke. As Light lamented, a group of adventurers called the Gathering of Races took him under their wing: Draggo, a dragonewt; Diablo, a demon; Oboro, an ogre; Nano, a dwarf; Center, a centaur; Sasha, an elf; Sionne, a dark elf; and Garou, a wolfman. They had seen in him the potential as a Master, because he had received a unique gift: Unlimited Gacha. Light could therefore lead a new life as a representative of the human race within the Gathering of Races.
This new life was full of good memories: Draggo had tea with him; Sasha consoled him every time he felt sad; He and Sionne conducted science experiments together; Diablo taught him princely manners; with Garou, they shared skewers of meat, and once scared Light's former employer to punish him for his greed; Nano taught him metallurgy; Oboro taught him fencing; and Center served as his archery mentor.
One day, the group ventured into the heart of Abyss, the deepest and most dangerous dungeon in the entire world. But on the second floor, Draggo and the others betrayed Light and wanted to kill him, the latter obviously not being a Master. Garou took great pleasure in attacking and torturing him. The young boy wanted to flee, but was stopped by an arrow in the ankle by Sasha. Suddenly, a trap portal teleported him to the last floor before Garou had time to finish him off. The group returned to the surface and announced that Light had died in the abyss.
Meanwhile, on the last floor of Abyss, Light, furious at having been deceived and betrayed, swore vengeance against his former companions. At that moment, a level 1000 cerberus approached him, attracted by the smell of blood. Desperate, the young adventurer managed to roll a SUR card from his Unlimited Gacha, summoning Mei, a level 9999 combat maid. She, exasperated by the attitude of the dragon dog, sliced it into cubes.
Then, after Mei had tended to Light's wounds, they introduced themselves to each other. Thanks to the Identification skill, the magnificent maid saw that the young man was worthy of being her overlord. Light, in tears, revealed to her the reason for his coming to the abyss. Mei, understanding, hugged him and vowed to help him in his quest for revenge. Light said that in order to get revenge on his former brothers and sisters in arms and know the truth about the Master, he had to become stronger. Mei agreed to stay by his side and help him become stronger. Then, Light summoned numerous cards, beginning his plan for revenge.
By training with cerberus, the former farmer boy reached level 4000 within a month. With his new friend, they faced the boss of Abyss: Orochi, the multi-headed dragon. But the fight was closer than expected: each time the monster was wounded, the blood from its wounds turned into a swarm of insects; and with each head that was decapitated, two new heads grew in it’s place. Fortunately, Light was armed with the "Urgan" spear, a phantasm-class weapon. Finally, he killed Orochi by releasing the UR spell "Virulence", leaving the dragon nothing but a skeleton.
Light and Mei moved into the core room and decided to manipulate it in order to control it. Mei provided her liege with the education necessary to know the hidden truth, making Light a great sage. He summoned three other level 9999 SUR beings: Aoyuki, a monster tamer; Eri, a forbidden mage; and Nazuna, a true vampire knight. Thanks to the latter, Light's weapon mastery reached a grandmaster level, the spear being the type of weapon he mastered best. After successfully controlling the core, Eri used "Summon Nightmare", an ultimate rank spell, to fight level 9000 monsters from the overworld. Finally, Light reached level 9999, the supreme level. Eri managed to lift Abyss's spatial restriction and created teleportation negation magic; Light was therefore able to release the SSR spell "Teleport", along with his four female generals to location where he was betrayed by his former comrades in arms. Once outside, he combined "Hide Presence" and "Fly" and they went to his village. But, alas, an unpleasant surprise awaited Light: the village was reduced to ashes, and of the inhabitants, including his parents, only their corpses remained. This destruction dates back several years; fortunately, no there was trace of Yume and Els, a sign that they are hopefully still alive. Full of hope, Light had his parents buried and wore a bracelet of immortality on his left wrist to stop his growth. He also summoned the most powerful and dangerous magical object: "Gungnir, Shinto Funeral", an EX rank scepter whose original form is a spear that can burn the gods to death. Knowing that he had the most formidable weapon, helped by Mei, Aoyuki and Eri, he sealed Gungnir so that he could wield it without risk; he thus got into the habit of walking around holding it in his hand.
Revenge against Garou[]
Three years had passed since Light was betrayed by the Gathering of Races. Light, now the master of the underground dungeon Abyss, congratulates the maids on their excellent work. The maids, thanking him, begin to fantasize about him as he heads towards the training room, where the girls are. Nazuna and Eri each greet him in their own way, then Aoyuki gives him a cat hug. Her master delicately caresses her chin. As he is about to tell them something important, the cerberus serving as training bares its fangs at him; but the girls terrify the hound by showing it who's boss. Light then tells them news brought by Mei: Garou has become a candidate for the position of leader of the wolfmen, and he accompanies the young woman to the second floor of Abyss, in the company of 10 men. Now, it's time to take revenge against Garou.
As Mei terrorizes the wolfmen with her overwhelming aura, Light appears behind them and tells her that her turn has not yet come. Mei calms her aura. The wolfmen can't believe it; Garou is even more surprised when Light reveals his face, revealing himself to be very much alive. When Light explains that he's here to take his revenge, Garou finds him very naive, wrongly believing that his former companion remained at level 15 and that a level 158 wolfman like him, assisted by 10 elite wolfmen above level 130, can easily kill humans. At his command, two of the wolfmen rush to block the exit, but are decapitated by Mei. Their heads roll on the ground before their bodies hit the walls. Then Mei seals the exit. Garou, stubborn, rushes at Light with the eight remaining wolfmen; but Light responds by knocking out all his opponents, using his spear: Gungnir which he wields like a martial artist's staff. Garou, coughing up blood, screams that a mere human has no chance of defeating him and takes out a monster capsule which he breaks, releasing a level 500 fenrir.
He mocks Light who finds him too weak, believing that the latter used a magic object. The young mage, to prove him wrong, leaves Gungnir to the side and stands still, much to the exasperation of Garou, who orders his fenrir to fire an attack concentrated at one point. Unfortunately for him, the immortal king escapes without a scratch. The latter, dusting off his coat, declares that the wolfmen are exaggerating. Garou realizes that in reality, Light was able to escape unscathed thanks to a colossal level gap, hoisting him above his fenrir. Then Light takes out a card from his sleeve and releases a level 9000 SUR monster: “Fenrir, the Founder”. The latter, on the orders of his master, freezes Garou's fenrir with his northern breath, reducing it to tiny icicles. Light then rewards Fenrir by petting him like a good dog.
The wolfmen can't believe it: a human man resisted the attack of a level 500 fenrir before summoning another beast, that has a level 18 times higher than Garous’. Light confirms that he might as well have killed Garou's fenrir himself, before opening his status window. The wolfmen are stunned: their enemy was a level 9999 human. They thought it was impossible, knowing that the average level of humans is level 100. Light adds that Mei is the same level as him.
Understanding that he is serious, Garou notices that his old brother-in-arms has not changed in three years. Light justifies himself by saying that he wanted to remember the despair, grief and anger that overwhelmed him the day he was betrayed. Garou realizes that it is no longer the weak boy he hit in the back who demands revenge, but a monstrously powerful man. Terrified, he prostrates himself before him, begging him to spare him; he also talks about the good times they had.
Disgusted by his cowardice, the other wolfmen berate and yell at him, before being silenced at the sight of the hand of their conqueror. He asks the future leader of the wolfmen what the Masters are, why they are sought after and the reason why they tried to kill him when he was not a Master. Garou, sheepishly, admits that he knows nothing about all this, nor do the other wolfmen. His companions try to deceive the Sorcerer Supreme; only, Mei, helped by Identification, cuts down the liars. Garou, the only one to have told the truth, is spared. Light asks him if it is possible for them to win against all the countries on the surface. Garou, always sincere, admits to him that they will have the advantage for a certain time, but that each country has, at least, a thousand years of history and legendary armor and weapons; at best, a third of the world could be destroyed. However, Light expected this, knowing the limits of one’s individual strength. He teleports everyone to the throne room within the abyss.
Garou can't believe it at all: the strongest of all humans, monsters of all species are gathered together; maids, knights, assassins, wizards, giants... there are even dragons. Light climbs the grand staircase and ascends the throne; at his command, all those who have prostrated themselves raise their heads and show their status windows; the strongest being of the same level as the young monarch. horrified to the point of suddenly aging, Garou realizes that their decision to kill Light has made him a monster embodying destruction: with such an army under his command, the latter could destroy the entire world as easily as breaking a toy.
Garou even wonders if Light would not have become a god, to which he replies that that sounds good. Light reveals that after accomplishing his goal, he will use his gift for the good of the world; depending on whether the truth is good or bad, he will become either a divine protector or a god of destruction. Already knowing what god he will be to humans, the immortal king draws four SUR cards: "Altruism", "Mystical Spring", "Fissure" and "Cursed Land". The time for revenge has finally come. Garou is locked in oblivion, where he experiences endless suffering.
Rising of the Black Clown Mask[]
Many days later, before moving to the next step of his revenge plan, Light dropped by the ruins of his village alongside Nemumu the assassin and Gold the golden knight, to decorate his parents's tomb with flowers. Then, after putting on the SSR item "Clown Mask", he leaves for Dagas, in the heart of the Dwarf Kingdom, accompanied by the two level 5000 UR guards. They take the air route; Along the way, Light adopts the alias Dark. Their second target is Sasha. But first, they need to become adventurers.
As they approach the exit of the forest, Nemumu sense the presence of several beings. They see a human father and his son being attacked by several dwarf bandits. The latter spot Gold's armor; Dark leaves the bandits hidden in the bushes. A bandit tries to knock out the knight; unfortunately for them, his helmet is so hard that he only manages to break his steel hammer on it. Gold knocks out the bandit with a simple flick, before preparing to instill in his accomplices the code of honor of chivalry the hard way. At the same time, Nemumu knocks out the last three bandits after slicing their weapons into pieces.
As thanks, the merchant takes them to Dagas, known to be a prosperous border town thanks to its keep. Before leaving them, he gives them the address of the inn which he owns; an inn whose main customers are humans; the Kernel Inn. The three travelers then go to the guild to register as F-rank adventurers. Then they meet their new friend, the innkeeper in charge of the Kernel Inn; and Dark pays him 300 gold pieces, in exchange for the entire largest floor for their group for an entire month, with a ban on stopping anyone else from entering their floor. Once well established, he releases the spells "Detection", "Anti-magic" and "Silence" to be able to discuss freely; the money used is genuine, and it is best to use the bare minimum.
When Nemumu suggest to send more people from the Abyss instead of doing things himself, Light becomes furious. The young woman, scared, excuses herself for going too far. To make up for it, she kisses his foot. The three adventurers decide to go to the Dagas dungeon tomorrow, and begin the second revenge plan once Eri's preparations are completed. The next day, they go to the dungeon, where other adventurers are gathered near the entrance. They are mainly humans, wolfmen, dwarves and centaurs, with only elves being banned.
Suddenly, three hooded individuals cut the people in front of them. Dark identifies them: the first, the best trained, carries a sword on his back; the second, dressed in a white coat, is tall; and the last, of small build, carries a heavy bag. Four young human adventurers do not dare to challenge them, for fear of dealing with dragonauts or elves. Taking matters into his own hands, Dark tells the freeloaders not to pass in front of everyone. The swordsman, not appreciating what he takes for an order, says to him dryly: "Do you know who you are talking to?"; However, far from being intimidated, the masked mage replies that he does not know who he is under his hood, and he adds: "If you are known, all the more reason not to cut in line." Gold scoffs that only a drunk would refuse to show his face; Nemumu, for her part, tells the individual to stop being stupid and stand in line like everyone else. All the adventurers around them take their side, speaking against the hooded individuals for lacking common sense.
The mysterious, arrogant individual calls Dark an insect he could crush, which the latter derides by saying that even insects scrupulously follow the rules. As he prepares to draw his weapon, his friend in the white coat, who is calmer, holds back his weapon, making him understand that it is a bad idea to use it in a crowd. The three individuals therefore return to their initial place. In passing, the one in the white coat apologizes for the incident.
Everyone congratulates Dark and his companions for putting the three men, who looked down on humans, in their place. The four young friends thank them for their help, they who did not want to deal with people blinded by the feeling of superiority. One of the three boys, named Gimura, asks Gold if his armor is really gold. Nemumu, knowing that his companion's armor is made of an indestructible alloy of gold and rare materials, responds by saying that it is fake. The leader of the quartet, lowering Gimura's head, apologizes for his friend's shameless behavior. Dark lets it run, the trio being used to it.
Noticing that they have no camping equipment, the leader asks them if this is their first dungeon (in fact, unlike the other dungeons, the space in Dagas's dungeon expands as the dungeon progresses in descent). The mage in the black cloak replies that they just wanted to take a look; he then thanks him for the information.
Once their new friends head out to explore, the trio realizes they could have taken out one of their three item boxes. they enter in turn. Along the way, they discuss the origin of the dungeons, which dates back to the birth of the Goddess of Light and the God of Darkness; these same gods who created the world, the 9 races and the monsters. Arriving on the first floor, they discover an open world beginning with an immense forest bordered by plains.
Subsequently crossing the second and third floors, they defeat golems and trolls, and take the items dropped as proof of their journey. They also decide to go back to the surface, the swamp on the third floor having dirtied them. To do this, they travel in the air. Back on the first floor, they find the quartet from earlier, in the middle of a battle against goblins. Their training is impeccable, but not infallible: a snake lurking in the grass is about to bite Miya, the leader’s sister. Luckily, Dark saves her by crushing the reptile's head with Gungnir's foot.
The hitwoman warns of the arrival of enemies. Suddenly, a pack of giant wolves rushes out of the woods. However, Dark guesses that the wolves are fleeing from the real enemy: a forsythia praying mantis. The leader, Erio, describes this rare insect as a level 500 monster that only appears once every 30 years, and is surprised to see such a specimen after only 10 years.
He asks Miya to distract the creature, but against all odds, their new friends prepare to attack it. Gold opens the ball, but the insect's shell and blades are hard. Light releases a Fire Arrow, but the animal deflects the spell. Panicked, Erio asks his sister to help them; however, Miya is shocked to see a boy her age casting a magic spell without an incantation, thinking that Dark is a veteran mage.
Gold, speaking to the quartet, takes advantage of the fight to teach them advanced sword and shield usage, while destroying one of the mantis' four blades and severing its leg. His lord follows, releasing thirty Fire Arrows. The young mage, her eyes bulging, notices that he perfectly controls all thirty at the same time. Dark destroys the monster's second blade, which tries to flee. However, the masked mage blocks his path with the tactical class spell, Wall of Fire. And when it tries to fly, Nemumu slices it into pieces. However, she realizes that she made a mistake: in the fight, she sliced up all the parts with market value. Dark reassures her; He and Gold did the same thing, destroying two of the blades. Erio and his companions are surprised: their three colleagues themselves killed, a level 500 monster; a feat worthy of S-rank adventurers. The craziest thing is that they are still only F-rank.
Once the magic stones are collected, Miya uses the spell "Water Ball" to allow her friends to wash their hands. As thanks, Erio invites Dark and his companions to spend the night at their camp. In the evening, Dark says that his parents were mages to justify his talent with magic, which of course arouses Miya's curiosity. The latter, modest, admits that she is not capable of utilizing tactical class magic. When her brother asks if there is really such a big difference, Miya, dynamic, reminds him that magic includes 3 ranks known to the general public: combat, tactical and strategic. However, despite being a human, Dark can easily cast a tactical class spell, and without incantation at that; no member of their race has ever achieved this feat before, making the young man a legend in the making. Nemumu shares her friend's opinion, seeing that she has noticed the greatness of her master.
Erio reveals that his sister was recommended by the Principality of 9 races to enter their magic school, proving that she has potential. but although it is the best school of magic, Erio and Miya had to give it up for lack of income; their parents having died following an epidemic. Luckily, their childhood friends, Gimura and Wardy, decided to help them earn money as adventurers, so Miya could attend the principality's magic school. Seeing the good relationship between her and her brother, Dark remembers the good old days. He admits to Miya that she is really talented. When Erio asks him the reason why he became an adventurer, the masked young man tells a sad story created in advance: according to the story, the fire that killed his parents burned his face, leaving him with a scar. Nemumu and Gold add that their master is looking for a cure that can cure his burn, and that they have been serving his family since his parents.
Two weeks later, Dark's group is now known as the Black Clown Mask. Many have heard of their exploit against the forsythia mantis. The members of the Black Clown Mask find Erio and his companions, and Miya offers Dark medicine to relieve the pain of his burn; the latter, grateful, gives him the SSR object “Praying Bracelet”. Shortly after, the Black Clown Mask arrives in the snowy plains of the 5th floor. While their sovereign returns to the Abyss, Gold and Nemumu take care of the yetis. Back at the castle, Light is warmly welcomed by his 4 long-time friends. As Mei serves him a cup of tea, he reports the adventurer plan is going smoothly. Plus, he made new friends in the outside world. Eri announces the preparations for the revenge plan against Sasha will end in 10 days. At the request of the young monarch, Mei takes care of the castle; Aoyuki starts investigating the forest; As for Nazuna, she is entrusted with guarding the Abyss dungeon. While enjoying his tea, Light expresses his joy at the idea of seeing the face his former sister-in-arms in despair.
One day, at the adventurer’s guild, the Mask of the Black Clown brings back, as usual, a large pile of magic yeti's stones, to the great pleasure of the receptionist. She willingly agrees to count the stones recovered. Gold and Nemumu point out her change in attitude towards them, not having forgotten that, when they unloaded their loot from the first day, she had wrongly accused them of fraud. Apologetic for her bad behavior at that time, the young dwarf woman warned the staff, who vouched for the authenticity of the treasure amassed. The members of the Black Clown Mask have even been promoted to D-rank. To be able to reach rank C, reserved for veterans, they will have to complete another major task. At that moment, a guild member announces a new urgent quest: murders are taking place in Dagas Dungeon, and the main victims are human adventurers. This is why a bounty has been placed on the head of the adventurer killer. Any bit of the slightest information on this subject will be rewarded.
Back at the Kernel Inn, the members of the Black Clown Mask discuss the most effective way to unmask and catch the adventurer killer. Suddenly they sense something and get ready to defend themselves; a strange vortex opens in the room. Light recognizes and catches the person who emerges from the portal: it is Miya. The poor girl is seriously injured, and the prayer bracelet she is wearing is broken. The three adventurers then understand what happened: Erio's group had become the newest victims of the adventurer killer, and Miya was saved by the miracle offered by the Prayer Bracelet. They hurry to heal her and send her to rest in the Abyss. Then they teleport to the Dagas dungeon, to the location of the two culprits: the elf Kaito, and the dark elf Yanark. just as the latter were about to escape, Light, in front of the mutilated bodies belonging to Gimura and Wardy, glares at them in anger and says in a sinister tone: "You pieces of trash. You're not going anywhere.". Mourning the fate of the poor young men, he delicately closes their eyes.
Gold, having recovered Erio, was able to give him first aid; the young man was as lucky as his sister, having escaped injured but alive. Light heals him and puts him to sleep. He regrets not having met the four young people 3 years earlier. Then the card mage turns to the adventurer slayers, denying them forgiveness. Yanark tries to deceive him, but, having heard Miya's testimony, Light is not fooled. However, preferring to hunt the two criminals himself, he did not warn the guild. Kaito is jubilant, thinking of being blessed by the goddess of light by having in front of him the only ones who know where Miya is; and intends to kill her after having massacred the young man, in order to become a legendary hero.
But the lord of the Abyss retorts by telling him that he will serve him, in the same way as Yanark, as a stepping stone to raise his rank as an adventurer; he adds that he does not intend to deliver them alive to the guild, having every intention of making them suffer as much as their victims before killing them. Gold and Nemumu do not intervene. Having his pride wounded, the former white knight becomes angry with Light, whom he describes as inferior. he unleashes a blow from Grandius, but the immortal king blocks it easily with Gungnir.
Although Kaito continues, each sword strike is blocked in the same way, much to Yanark's surprise. Light comments that his enemy charges like a wild boar; Gold adds that he only relies on his brute strength. Getting bored, the young monarch gives Kaito a good blow with Gungnir in the chest. The adventurer slayer, coughing up blood, falls to the ground. Hearing his opponent tell him that he can do better than that, he loses his temper and summons the clones of Grandius, magic blades with applied magical effects (each clone having a different effect). Which does not frighten Light at all: he, after dodging the 30 clones of Grandius, blocks an attack launched from behind. Annoyed, Kaito wonders if his opponent is not a first-class warrior, given his fighting style. To prove to him that he is indeed a mage, Light unleashes 30 Ice Lances. Kaito persists, but is shocked to see him block all of Grandius' clones with a single spell; even Yanark can't believe it: the level of mastery of the black mage is higher than the level of the elven mages.
Kaito complains in disbelief: not only is he level 1500, but he also owns the national treasure of the elven kingdom, offered to his people by a Master. his last words peaks the curiosity of the members of the Black Clown Mask. When Light asks him if he knows anything about Masters, Kaito replies with a smile that he is a sub-Master, a descendant of the Master. Intrigued, the Sorcerer Supreme tells his companions that he has changed his plan: capture the two criminals, take them to the Abyss dungeon and extract from them everything they know about the Masters before killing them. he leaves them to take care of Yanark. The scientist, not being a great fighter, lets his guinea pigs fight for him; and there, the Black Clown Mask is horrified: the dark elf has created two chimeras, half-human, half-monster beings; a hybrid created from a man and a stone lizard from the dark elf archipelago, and another made of a man and several trolls. The goal of Yanark's research is to create artificial Masters and Sub-Masters.
Disgusted to see that this mad scientist is using humans as laboratory guinea pigs, Light orders his guards to kill the chimeras and not let their creator escape. The assassin and the golden knight do so, slashing the monsters to pieces.
However, the latter can regenerate, which puts obstacles in their way. Yanark, sneering narcissistically, boasts of the invincibility of his test subjects. He adds that, if they kindly surrender, they will be able to join them. But the scientist made a serious mistake: he underestimated his two adversaries. Nemumu kills the reptilian monster with Absolute Death; For his part, Gold finishes off the troll monster using the Flames of Judgment. When Yanark realizes it, it is too late: his test subjects can no longer regenerate, reduced to pieces and ashes. Nemumu neutralizes him with a good kick to the crotch.
Having had enough, Kaito unleashes Grandius's most powerful technique, the Giant Sword; a technique that fuses the clones of the phantasm class equipment together into a single giant blade that can move like a whip. In the eyes of Light, who manages to dodge it with ease, it's just a like a street performance. Feeling insulted, the adventurer slayer takes advantage of a moment when his opponent is standing motionless in front of him to try to cut off his arm. Alas, his smirk turns into a expression of fear: the giant blade has not even cut the young man's shoulder. Panicked, Kaito persists, without understanding that the real power gap with his opponent makes him a termite compared to a titan. After shattering the giant blade with a single punch, Light delivers a powerful blow to Kaito's chest; then he breaks his nose with a kick to the face that knocks him to the ground, making him bleed. He reassures him that he held back, adding that he should expect a lot more pain and suffering.
Realizing that he has no chance of winning, Kaito easily surrenders and reveals that he was a candidate for captain of the White Knights. He also admits to being ready to give up important information, and even his weapon; but his conqueror, believing it to be a joke, asks him why he does not resist like the hero he claims to be; while Wardy, Gimura and Erio, despite their lack of experience, fought with all their might to protect Miya. The former white knight justifies himself by saying that it's impossible, that he can't even leave a scratch on him. Revolted by his insensitivity, the immortal king orders Nemumu to give him Grandius, and plants it in front of the murderer; then he removes his mask before ordering him to grab his weapon and show him what he is truly capable of. The adventurer slayer tries to capitulate; but its dynamic winner insists. No longer finding the courage to brandish Grandius, Kaito ends up scampering like a rabbit. Disgusted by his cowardice, the supreme sorcerer shoots a Solar Ray that punches a hole in his right leg to stop his escape. He then tells him that Miya was right: Kaito is neither a saviour nor a hero; he's just a loser running away from reality.
While his guards immobilize the adventurer killers by putting their foot on their backs, Light embalms Wardy and Gimura, wanting to offer them an eternal resting place within the Abyss. It was then that the Black Clown Mask remembered the two men: they were the two hooded individuals who had cut in line last month. The two outlaws, surprised to know that their conquerors have unmasked them all this time, regret having attracted the wrath of individuals infinitely more powerful than themselves; the immortal king sighs, wondering why fate is so cruel. He teleports everyone to the top floor of the Abyss, to the heart of his castle. Kaito and Yanark couldn't believe their eyes: despite the distance separating the two dungeons, they found themselves transported in a fraction of a second from the scene of their last crime to their future place of execution. Mei, Eri, Aoyuki and Nazuna, as usual, come to warmly welcome their sovereign. When he reveals to them that the two adventurers he brought back have attacked a large number of humans and that they have information on the Masters, they prepare to torture them; even Nazuna cracks her fists, ready to demolish them.
Light leaves Gold to take care of Erio, while he and Nemumu go dig Gimura and Wardy's graves. Panicked, Yanark tries to pass himself off as a victim of Kaito's threats and begs his jailer to spare him; unfortunately for him, the latter responds by asking him if he spared his human guinea pigs when they asked him to do so. Terrified by the dark gaze of their tormentors, Yanark and Kaito can only scream and cry.
The next day, the members of the Black Clown Mask return to Dagas' dungeon carrying the still sleeping Erio and Miya in their arms. On the way out, they invent a story that they tell the guild: according to this story, they entered the dungeon after hearing about the quest, looking for the adventurer killer; they then found Erio and his sister about to be killed by two elves, and they stopped the outlaws; having found themselves in a bad situation, the elves fled towards the deepest floor; having decided that chasing them was too dangerous, the three travelers went back up with the survivors.
Erio is taken to the hospital for treatment, and Dark leads Miya to his room at the Kernel Inn; he watches over her until she wakes up. He then tells her the same story as for the guild. They can visit Erio after Miya is healed. When the young girl asks him about his old friends, the masked young man, saddened at not having been able to save them, presents her with two rolls of paper, each containing a lock of their respective hair: a lock of hair Gimura's blond hair, and another, Wardy's black hair; he apologizes for not being able to bring back their bodies. Touched, Miya thanks him for doing everything possible, but cannot contain her sorrow. Dark leaves the room, closing the door, head bowed.
With the problem of adventurer killers resolved, the members of the Black Clown Mask rose to rank C. After fully recovering, Erio and Miya decide to retire among the adventurers and return home the next morning, via the caravan leaving for their native village; Erio even sold his equipment. They thank Dark for everything he has done for them, although he is modest. The masked young man finds it a shame that they are stopping their adventure, because it means that Miya will not be able to go to the magic academy. The young girl justifies herself by saying that, since the incident, she has been too afraid to return to a dungeon. His brother adds that Gimura and Wardy are irreplaceable companions. The two young people wish to offer them a proper funeral upon their return; and Miya plans to work hard and learn magic on her own. They invite their new friends to visit them, which delights Gold, who can't wait to taste the village's alcohol.
After seeing them leave the inn, full of hope for the future, Light teleports to his office in the castle. When he asks Mei and Eri how the interrogation is going, they reveal that they used their forbidden magic to make the prisoners talk, and the witch kept their memories to verify the accuracy of the information. Reading the notes given to him by Mei, the young monarch learns that any individual possessing the blood of a Master becomes a Sub-Master, a being endowed with great magical power and great strength. But the following information leaves him perplexed: countries fear the Master because, if he/she is not controlled, the world would be destroyed. Mei believes that the Master is a deterrent, with countries aiming for military balance. Eri says that Kaito learned this information from the captain of the White Knights, Captain Hardy. Although she searched his memory again, she found nothing else useful.
Not being sure of anything, they decide to stop the investigation. Eri then opens a portal to Kaito and Yanark's cell: a dimension filled with thorny brambles. The serial killer and the mad scientist are handcuffed, their eyes hollow with despair and their faces covered in sweat and tears. The immortal king, to punish them for their crimes, releases the SSR spell "Feast of the Dead" into their cell.
Kaito and Yanark scream in pain and fear, the undead biting them to the bone in a bath of blood. Once the portal is closed, the three transcendental beings pray that this lethal punishment can relieve the souls of the deceased. Eri then shares some good news: the revenge plan against Sasha is ready to go.
According to reports, Sasha is engaged to Michael, the vice-captain of the White Knights, and their order has Sub-Masters; they’re kidnapping to collect more information is also on the agenda. Thanking her, Light gives her the green light to start the plan.
The nightmare of Sasha[]
Light and Eri travel to the elf kingdom. The black mage attracts the attention of Sasha, who follows him to a dead end in an alleyway. Before joining his accomplice on the rooftop, he leaves a letter on a wall saying that he will wait for her at the big tower. During the night, Eri constructs an enormous 5-story tower and Aoyuki sends her pet monsters to scare the surface species and devour the slavering elves, while the punks rescue the human slaves used as guides and cannon fodder before entrusting them to the care of Light's other low-level subjects, such as the merchants.
A few days later, the Mask of the Black Clown invites himself among the adventurers investigating the famous Giant Tower. The two members of the Song of the Thunder Arrow glare at them, not having forgotten the humiliation they have taken on themselves; the flash intended to dissuade them was not enough. Suddenly, Dark and his companions feel Sasha's presence. The latter, having become an adventurer again, calls out to the young man. Nemumu tells the young woman that they are in the middle of a meeting and advises her not to interrupt them, but Sasha sends her away and orders the boy to remove his mask. Dark states that his mask covers his burn scars. Not believing a word of it, the elven princess sends the object flying with a wave of her hand; but seeing the burnt face of her interlocutor, she is so nauseated that she lets him put his mask back on (even though the scar is a magical mirage).
Later, in the woods, the trio goes to a secret location to join the others; but their adversaries from yesterday run after them, determined to take revenge on them, despite a final warning from Dark. They follow them to the meeting place; Gold and Nemumu think it's a shame that these young people prefer to waste their talents like this rather than use them for good. Blinded by their arrogance, the two elves look down on them, without suspecting that Mera, the level 7777 chimera, is behind them. The latter, sneering with all her fangs, devours the unwelcome people to the bone.
Light apologizes to Mera for giving her extra work; the hybrid woman doesn't hold it against him, saying that she would happily eat tons of nosy people like these two narcissistic adventurers for him. 3 other vassals, all level 7777 come to meet their overlord: Ice-Heat, the fighter of fire and ice; Suzu, the androgynous gunwielder and her talking gun, Lock; and Jack, the iron man.
Ice-Heat guides everyone to the tower. On the way, Jack asks Gold if he took good care of Light; not liking his insinuation, Nemumu, Ice-Heat, Mera and Suzu look at him with deadly intent. Jack justifies himself by saying that, unlike them, he separates work and private spheres. he blames them for forcing their desire on their master, and as a big brother, he has no intention of letting him feel alone. Light tells the girls that he gave his permission to calm them down, before advising his adopted brother not to provoke them. He notices that Ice-Heat is wearing her gloves. The wrestler finds that it has been a long time since she last wore them. Once they arrive, the group is greeted by Eri, Aoyuki and Nazuna. The tower having been made impossible to spy on and climb, they can chat there like at home.
Before going to the fifth floor, the Immortal King notices Eri's summoned companion, a red dragon. once at the throne room, Light and his subjects summarize the plan; then they move on, letting the dragon out, so that Sasha notices it. Before she reports the presence of such a monster to the Giant Tower, Dark makes a similar report to the Dagas Guild. all they have to do now is wait for Sasha and the white knights to test their strength.
When the big day comes, the white knights take the safest route to the tower. Hidden in the woods, they wait for the 6 Cerberus to come out, attracted by the adventurers; then, Hardy uses his "Silent" skill to silence the group, allowing them to stealthy enter the ground floor. Sharphat scouts out, but accidentally activates a teleportation trap. The group finds itself split into 5, each new group finding itself on a different floor, with one or more opponents: Nia and Kia against Mera and Ice-Heat on the 1st; Sharphat vs. Suzu and Lock in the 2nd; Mast against Jack in the 3rd; Hardy vs. Nazuna in the 4th; Michael and Sasha against Light, Eri and Aoyuki for last.
On the 1st floor, Nia and Kia confront Mera and Ice-Heat by taking advantage of their speed; their opponents dodge their slashes and thrusts. They use the spell "Wind Blade" at high speed. Suddenly, Nia throws his knife at Mera's right leg, allowing his brother to cut off her right arm. they brag, but the fighters point out to them that they didn't even hurt them; the proof is that their sabers and knives are clean, without a single drop of blood. Adding that they did not mutilate her, Mera devours her arm, causing it to regrow; then she tears off her head, much to the shock and terror of the two boys. After a little introduction, Mera tells them that, being a chimera, each cell in her body is a creature independent of its siblings, and that she can difuse and merge at will. Finding it impossible that their opponents are level 7777, Nia and Kia think it's a joke. Furious at having been tested, they persist. But no matter how much they use Wind Blades and Lightning Arrows, as well as fencing techniques, there is nothing that can be done: their attacks either pass through or inflict no injuries on their opponents. Frightened, the two boys end up running away like rabbits. After putting her head back in place, Mera creates a fireproof shield for herself; then, Ice-Heat summons her fire spirit, Ifrit. As they flee, the two brothers realize that they are sweating profusely; they then realize that the surrounding air is heating up. To cool down, they cast the spell "Wall of Ice"; but to their great surprise, the heat is so intense that the ice is melting at a alarming pace. As they chain together the Ice Walls, Ice-Heat heats the air faster and faster. In the end, the two boys find themselves charred but alive. Mera, ready to mentally break them, releases insectoid worms. No matter how much they cried for help, the monster didn't care, knowing that they loved the torture and massacre of humans. She reminds them that they killed everyone who begged or apologized to them; she adds that they must repent for their sins. The two boys, desperate, find themselves swallowed whole.
On the 2nd floor, Sharphat and Suzu have a shooting duel: the crossbowman shoots arrows from his artifact class weapon, each shot being countered by a bullet from Lock. The gunwielder dodges all the shots passing through it. Sharphat tries to flirt with her, even though he's not her type of guy. But he makes a serious mistake: he says that her master Light is boring and says he is better than him. Lock lets him know that he made the biggest mistake in front of his partner. Indeed, Suzu, furious at hearing such an insult to her beloved, telepathically releases her desire to kill and sets her magic rifle to a speed of 10,000 shots/minute. Surprised, the elf unleashes the Summer Thora at maximum speed; but his shots are not keeping pace. The shots end up hitting him; Worse still, each bullet from Lock has an abnormal effect, such as a poisoning or paralysis. Poor Sharphat is being pelted to the point where he can no longer move. But Suzu doesn't stop there: she stomps on his face. Fortunately, Lock manages to calm her down by saying that by doing this, she was showing him the bottom of her skirt. Embarrassed, Suzu kneels to hide her panties. Then she realizes that she had incapacitated Sharphat before seeing the full extent of his power, she cries in fear. Her partner spends the remaining time reassuring and consoling her.
On the 3rd floor, a duel takes place between Mast and Jack. The latter assures the white knight that they are alone here, and that there is no trap; It is therefore a fair fight, man to man. Mast, finding it absurd that a human man could be level 7777, does not know that his opponent is being sincere. He desires to obtain the truth in battle, without using analytical skills; which makes the iron man happy. Mast rushes forward, determined to win with a single thrust; but Jack, much faster, repels the attack with the back of his hand. The young elf starts again, but each blow is parried the same way; after a moment; Jack flicks him away. Stubborn, Mast shouts that, to save the people, he cannot lose. when his opponent asks him if, by "saving" humans, he means "killing humans to save them from their suffering", he confirms by evoking the so-called weaknesses of this people; he thinks it is better to exterminate humans than let them live a long life of suffering, and that no one understands his “acts of mercy”. But Jack retorts, finding no mercy in this psychopathic philosophy, and saying that only a madman would understand that. Still finding his ideals noble, Mast uses the power of his artifact class weapon, the Strongarm Halberd, to strengthen himself, even if it means risking his life. Recognizing that his opponent is quick-witted, Jack throws his coat over his shoulder. As the suit hits the ground, Mast, his eyes red and watering with blood, rushes in and performs a spinning attack. However, Jack blocks the blow with no problem with the back of his fist, before activating his Iron Body skill that equips his entire body with indestructible armor. The white knight persists, but only manages to break his weapon in the last blow, his opponent's body being stronger than steel. Jack, telling Mast that he was unlucky, peppers his face with a barrage of punches, causing him to crash into one of the pillars. Mast, despite the fact that he is disfigured, is simply knocked out. Jack salutes his courage, but refuses to make him a brother, as Mast's principles are detestable.
On the 4th floor, a duel of strength takes place between Hardy and Nazuna. While the captain of the white knights analyzes his opponent and plans to eliminate the red dragon, capture and interrogate his master before killing him, the vampire knight strikes the first blow; a blow of such power that it slices Hardy's sword like a sheet of paper, slices the latter's shoulder and blows a hole in the wall. Nazuna, realizing her stupidity, is scolded by Eri, who, during the repair, tells her that she must learn to channel her Herculean strength, in order to avoid unnecessary damage. Hardy, kept alive despite his mortal wound, uses Intermediate Heal to heal himself; and he stands up, ready for the 2nd round. Recognizing the girl as an adversary, he uses Silent to try to weaken her; then he uses Reverse Silent/Silent Reverse to strengthen himself, and summons the silent blade of the Hermit's Sword from his broken sword. Nazuna, wanting to be able to manage her strength, sheathes her sword and gets into a fighting stance. She rushes so quickly that Hardy doesn't even have time to notice that she is already in front of him. The white knight is hurled against the wall with a simple punch, leaving a enormous crater.
On the top floor, Light asks Eri if she is okay, having noticed that she has lost a lot of mana and had been trembling due to Nazuna breaking the wall repeatedly. However, she reassures him and tells him she is just fine. Guessing that Nazuna has already won her fight, he finds it disappointing that Hardy doesn't have much variety in his arsenal. But their capture is what matters. Eri says that Nazuna is a little too spoiled, due to her childish nature due to being the last SUR card to appear. Light knows that the witch is right: because of her childish personality, everyone loves Nazuna; even Ice-Heat melts with tenderness in front of her. Seeing his four female generals as siblings, for him, Mei is the older sister; Aoyuki, the younger sister; Eri, the third sister; and Nazuna, the youngest. Informed of the guest’s arrival by Aoyuki, the young monarch puts his mask back on and waits for the door to open.
When Michael and Sasha enter, the black mage, seated on the throne, greets his former sister-in-arms by saying, "It's been a long time, Sasha." When Michael asks his fiancée if she knows him, the latter, astonished, admits that she has only seen him once, before his expedition; she then calls the young man inferior, saying that he should not have the right to speak to her. The latter, laughing at hearing the elven princess speak to him so cruelly, reminds her that they explored many dungeons together. Sasha, at first denies this, but then recognizes his voice and his golden eyes; and she is surprised when Light reveals his face, who repeats his greeting. Her former brother-in-arms is back, ready for revenge.
Light reveals himself to be the creator of the Giant Tower, and the fact that he trained for three years for this day. The vice-captain, giggling deliriously, sees this encounter as a chance of a lifetime: if they bring back Light's head, they will gain influence in the elven monarchy; and their future daughter will be a candidate for the throne. Sasha looks down on Light, finding him stupid for coming back to the surface. determined to send him to hell, she expresses her pride at having transcended level 500 (her old companion himself recognizes that she has become stronger). So she pulls out the Angel's Ocarina, the Prime Minister's phantasm-class family treasure. As soon as she plays the first piece, three angels are summoned: a muscular angel, specializing in close combat; a knightly angel, with a strong defense; and an angel mage, gifted with healing magic. The muscular angel tries to crush Light like an insect, but he avoids his club blow. The young monarch breaks the shield and arms of the angel knight, despite the wall of light erected before him. However, the angel mage heals his teammate's wounds. The two elves are surprised to see a human who can fight toe-to-toe with angels of their calibur.
When Light reveals his current level, although Sasha is surprised at first, the two fiancés mistakenly believe he is lying. Determined to prove to them that he truly is level 9999, their enemy confronts the angels, taking care to eliminate the angel mage. However, Sasha resurrects it, who then protects the 2 other angels. Light tries to neutralize their summoner, but Michael protects his beloved; he repels the young person using his own attack against him, thanks to his Blessing and Judgment shield, giving Sasha a status boost in the process. Thinking that her former companion has his back against the wall, the princess treats him as less than nothing and trash; the vice-captain adds that he lost the moment he challenged them and advises him to surrender, saying that it would be impossible not to end up broken in the face of such despair. But Light laughs at this and announces that the two lovebirds would soon know true despair: the immortal king, to thank them for making him laugh, is about to show them true despair; despite Aoyuki and Eri's pleas, he lifts the first of 4 level 9999 soul limiters, unleashing a quarter of Gungnir's true power and it's 2nd form.
Terrified by the aura of the scepter of God, the two guests tremble at the sight of the master of darkness, who gives them a sinister smile. Panicked, Sasha orders the angels to kill him; but the muscular angel begins to tremble in fear when his weapon becomes corrupted upon contact with Gungnir, before Light incinerates him with a shot of darkness, destroying the wall of light erected by the angel mage. The attack spell also affects the angel knight, who meets the same fate. Making it Impossible for the Angel mage to heal them; Sasha therefore summons them again. Then, at her command, the three angels merge, becoming one almighty archangel. The latter casts the tactical-class sacred spell, Sacred Javelin. As she does, Sasha insults him by praising this attack as the most powerful of the archangel, she is stunned when she sees the Sacred Javelin being easily disintegrated by Light. Her old brother in arms expresses his disappointment with a smile, showing that it takes more than an attack like this to kill him. The archangel connects the Sacred Javelins at full power. Alas, Light, despite a burn on his right hand due to the lifting of Gungnir's 1st soul limiter, manipulates the sinister aura in such a way to repel all their attacks. He continues to taunt Sasha and tells her to make more of an effort.
In a final desperate struggle, the archangel unleashes all his attacks at once. Unfortunately it was for nothing as Light easily obliterates him; Sasha tries to resurrect the angels once again by playing the ocarina, to no avail. Then right before her eyes, the Angel's Ocarina corrodes and breaks into a thousands of tiny pieces. This is the proof that Gungnir can incinerate life and prevent resurrrection. When Michael asks how this is possible, Light explains that Gungnir is a Genesis-class weapon; phantasm class objects are therefore ineffective. The vice-captain, still incredulous, believes him to be arrogant, knowing that Blessing and Judgment is a mythological class item. Protecting themselves behind, the two fiancés wait for him firmly, not realizing that they underestimate the immortal king. The latter, in a great clash between light and darkness, breaks the magic shield, causing his enemies to be thrown into wall behind them. The two lovebirds fall like flies, injured by the impact against the wall.
At last, Michael recognizes that, even within humans, such a monster can be born. When he asks him if he really isn't a Master, his conqueror responds by reminding them that their superiors tried to kill him based on incomplete information. Michael angered by Sasha’s blunder in not confirming Light’s death three years ago, warns her that he will inform the higher ups about this and she will face punishment for this. Announcing his farewell he decides to retreat, the vice-captain takes out a magical amulet, Wings of the Armada; but to his great surprise, the talisman does not activate. Michael doesn't understand: this magical talisman, passed down from generation to generation in his family, belonged to a master. Light and Eri explain to him that the tower is imbued with original anti-teleport magic, created after analyzing the core of the Abyss dungeon; which obstructs long-distance teleportation.
Michael, stubborn, exclaims that they have one hope left: their comrades (he believes Hardy to be superior to Light and his subjects, when in reality, it is the opposite). The immortal king, smiling, informs Ice-Heat of the end of the fight and tells her that they can enter. As Sasha wonders who he's talking to, the door opens again. And then, Michael and Sasha are horrified: the other knights have been defeated, all of them badly injured and disfigured some beyond recognition. Their respective victors place them on the ground. Seeing their last hope gone, the two engaged couples can only scream in terror, in true despair.
Not knowing what to do with these transcendental beings, Michael prostrates himself before the young monarch and offers him a deal: an alliance to seize the kingdom of the elves, with, as a reward, the obedience of the elven women. But Light wants neither the elven women nor the queen's throne; all he desires is revenge against the Gathering of Races, as well as the hidden truth about the master. Unconcerned, the vice-captain says he had nothing to do with the attempt to kill the former candidate for the Master, and that Sasha was acting on national orders. The latter, injured, has difficulty coping with the fact that her beloved has betrayed her, to the point that he pushes her away because she is an illegitimate child. Having seen enough of this scene reminiscent of the day he himself was betrayed, Light entrusts Michael's punishment to Eri. The White Knight assures the witch that he is sorry for insulting the young man, saying that he had not yet understood his greatness, and that it is now engraved in his bones. Delighted to hear it, Eri nevertheless says that it is not enough: he cannot truly understand the greatness of the living god; and she intends to carve it into his flesh.
Terrified by his tormentor's words, Michael flees like a galloping horse; Alas, Eri stops him with the strategic class Bonds of Thorns. Michael is completely restrained, with no hope of escape: it is impossible for him to free himself from this spell capable of restricting a being of their caliber as well. And even if he managed to succeed, his limbs would be broken. Eri takes advantage of him being tied up to search his memory, making him scream in agony.
Stunned by her fiancée's fate, Sasha recoils in fear when she realizes it's her turn to be punished. She tries to remind her former companion of the good old days; but the latter, having not forgotten anything he learned at that time, knows that it was all fake. He adds that, since the day of the betrayal, the arrow she shot in his ankle has continued to haunt him.
Trembling, the princess defends herself by telling Light that, if she had taken his defense, Draggo and Diablo would have massacred her. Then, partially undressing, she begs him to spare her, in exchange he can do whatever he wants with her body. Light reassures Sasha that he doesn't plan to kill her; but at the same time, he frightens her by revealing that he will inflict on her the same that awaits their former companions: the experience of the highest level of pain while keeping them alive, until he understands the truth and decides if he will kill all the other races except the humans. The young monarch orders Mera to bring the young elven woman to the top floor of Abyss, in the castle dungeons. Before the chimera executes the order, he releases the arrow he caught 3 years ago, and throws it straight into Sasha's left thigh, who writhes in pain.
Being swamped by the swarm of centipedes emerging from Mera's dress, the young elven woman begs her former friend to save her, admitting to him that she simply wanted to be happy, and get back at her family; but Light, uncompromising, told her that she should have thought of ways other than killing him to achieve this. While Sasha is dragged towards the dungeons, where Garou is already locked up, he tells her one last thing: “Farewell, Sasha”. After sealing Gungnir and healing his hand, The immortal king teleports everyone to the Abyss.
During the following days, the White Knights had their memories searched, before being executed. The most information came from captain Hardy's memories, the latter being a prince of royal blood: according to this same information, if the Master is left alone, the advancement of civilization will accelerate; and if the technological level reaches a critical point, the world will be destroyed. To limit his external influence, the master must be monitored, like a bird in a cage.
Although finding this thought a bit exaggerated, Eri confirms the existence of an ancient civilization, of which their ruins are historical proof. She and her overlord therefore know that the Master can advance civilizations to the point of making them ahead of their time, and that he possesses powerful magical powers, weapons, combat skills and knowledge. According to the following information, countries aim to maintain balance and avoid rapid progress to the tipping point, by eliminating any and all Master Candidates. Due to this, Light and Eri do not understand why the other races would choose a route like this: firstly, it would be better to spare those who are not Masters; secondly, the true Master could hear the news and take out his anger on the people responsible for these killings. The decision to kill the Master candidates obviously flaunts more cons that pros. Having extracted all the information they could out of their prisoners, they move on to the next step: the invasion of the elven kingdom.
On the orders of the immortal king, the renegade witch, taking on the pseudonym of the Witch of the Tower, rides her dragon to the capital of the elf kingdom, accompanied by a army of 100 wyverns. After warning the ministry telepathically and demonstrating the firepower of her companions, she lands in the palace gardens.
It was then that she was challenged by Hardy's mother; Queen Lief VII. She finds it very rude to invade with her wyverns and orders her to leave. Eri retorts that she's the rude one because she sent the White Knights as intruders into her tower. Stunned to see the owner of the Giant Tower before her, Lief asks what happened to her son and the other White Knights; but the Witch of the Tower turns a deaf ear before asking her for the reason for this invasion. The queen explains that she sent them to take care of a dragon. Far from being convinced, her invader approaches her.
Some knights rush in to try to kill the witch, despite the Prime Minister's attempt to hold them back; but this effort is in vain: just like the latter, all the knights who wanted to attack her are immediately skewered by the Sacrifice Trees spell. They then find themselves drained of their blood, devoured and transformed into trees with human faces, preventing the other knights from approaching. Lief attempts to flee, but finds herself hampered by Thorn Links. After probing her mind, Eri discovers the reason why the Master candidate must be eliminated: people other than humans suspect the appearance of a being different from a Master, but are just as powerful. Before leaving, having noticed the poor treatment of humans in this country, she proclaims the absolute independence of humans; thus, the entire elven kingdom sees the final abolition and ban of slavery.
Returning to the Abyss, she reports to Light, who understands that the Gathering of Races attempted to kill him because they feared he would become a dangerous being. 5,000 human slaves have already been freed, and although they are wary of the Giant Tower, their saviors will support them until they achieve independence and true freedom. The immortal king is proud of Eri: thanks to her help, his revenge against Sasha was perfect; moreover, the information about the Masters is even more vast; and to top it all off, he will be able to reign in the shadows over the kingdom of the elves. Suddenly, he receives a telepathic call from Mei; she received information that Sionne, their third target, died in the depths of a dungeon.
A hell for Sionne[]
Indeed, it seems that the laboratory of which Sionne was the director has become dungeonized; The Dark Elf Archipelago has sent a group of investigators to rescue any survivors, but the new dungeon turns out to be harder than it seems. Worse still, its appearance caused underwater eruptions. To save their people, the leaders of the archipelago made a request to several guilds to destroy the new dungeon as quickly as possible. Refusing to have his third target of revenge stolen from him by a dungeon that appeared out of nowhere, Light decides that it is time for the Mask of the Black Clown to apply for the quest to destroy the dungeon laboratory.
The following day, the boat leading the adventurers approaches the island where Sionne's laboratory is located. Dark jokes about the fact that this building became a dungeon without warning. Gold says this is karma; which reminds him of the state the capital of the elven kingdom has been in since the liberation of the slaves (it is now a rat-infested dump, with no one to clean it up). His team leader guesses that the elves regret their laziness due to their dependence on their former human slaves. Nemumu admits to being delighted that they received a letter of recommendation from the Dagas guild, to be able to participate in the dungeon destruction quest. Finally, they land on the island; a tourist attraction, where there is a chalet on stilts to which they were taken. During the night, Light dreams of his lost village, his home, and his family.
In the early morning, after admiring the view of the sea, the members of the Black Clown Mask gather with other adventurers who have responded to the request. The leader of the Sword of Solitude, Yudo the Artifact Collector, summarizes the details of the quest; It is then that a scarred wolf-man complains about the presence of humans, taking the members of the Black Clown Mask for incompetent. The dark elf retorts this a priority, recalling their heroic exploits. Surprised to know that he was wrongly speaking ill of rising stars, the man himself did not expect to see that they were small, but strong.
Before they leave for the dungeon in a carriage, Yudo apologizes to the members of the Black Clown Mask for this situation; when Dark thanks him, he is modest, saying that this is what a leader should do, respecting them for their abilities. Then he tries to flirt with Nemumu by asking her to join his group, which displeases his teammates; but the dark-skinned young woman refuses his advances, saying that there is nothing better than being at the masked mage's side. The fencer, understanding, announces that, once at the dungeon, he will come see them to find out what they have learned. Understanding that they must avoid this group, the members of the Black Clown Mask get into the carriage and head towards the laboratory.
After receiving instructions, the Black Clown Mask enters the laboratory, before entering the building. Inside, Dark feels a familiar sensation, although he doesn't remember it. At his command, Nemumu scouts for traps, while Gold remains alert at the slightest noise and prepares for defense. Opening the door leading to the hall, they venture into the long corridor that replaced it. Sensing the approach of humanoid monsters, they prepare for battle; but the sight of the latter surprises them: the monsters look like Sionne, like 2 drops of water. Suddenly, the 3 monsters pounce at the adventurers; only to be bound by the Bindings of Darkness spell, cast by Dark. The latter takes the opportunity to analyze them with Identification, after using Silent to silence them.
It turns out that the 3 creatures are clones of Sionne, created by a soul dragon; a monster from the underworld. It reminds him of the feeling from earlier; the same as Summon Nightmare used by Eri. With the monsters destroyed, the members of the Black Clown Mask understand why the dark elves were confused about the details. As they prepare to leave, Dark perceives a presence similar to Yume's; but when he went to check, he found no one. The Black Clown Mask goes back up, without realizing that the presence in question is watching them. Once outside, they come across the Sword of Solitude, to whom they tell that there is nothing to report at the moment.
Back at home, Light hears Eri hypothesize that it was all an accident: a connection has been established between Sionne's laboratory and another world, like a door left open; the dragon of souls came from the other world in theirs; finally, Sionne is alive, which gives Light the opportunity to take revenge. However, they must act quickly, because current events are only the tip of the iceberg: if the two worlds remain connected for too long, the dark elf archipelago, or even the entire continent, risk being wiped off the map by an implosion. Even the Abyss would not be spared. Faced with this continental danger, the immortal king decides to make the destruction of the inter-world link the number 1 priority. Mei and Eri join the group; one as support and the other to support in an unforeseen event, the other to close the gate. After taking all the necessary cards, the troop teleports to the chalet and goes directly to the laboratory; to avoid being spotted, the maid and the witch use the Erased Presence spell to completely hide themselves.
On the way to the first staircase, Nemumu defeats a ghost dog. arriving at the 1st basement, they take care to move in the light to avoid shadows. Suddenly, they hear a cry: a little girl has been caught by a monster. instinctively, Light saves the child and pulverizes the beast. He realizes that he saved a little ghost girl. Although the monster reforms, Gold chars it.
Although he thinks it's a trap, Light begins to sympathize with the girl. the latter, responding to the sweet name: Momo, admits to them that she has been looking for her parents since waking up in the laboratory. Until now, she was hiding; but the arrival of the man she now considers a brother offered her a glimmer of hope: by following the group to the last basement, she has a chance of finding her parents there. moved by the sadness of the deceased girl, Light decides to take her with them. Momo climbs on Gold's back, giving him the nickname Shiny Uncle, and the team continues on their way. Light takes the opportunity to chat with Mei, seeing that their new friend is sincere and kind.
Arriving at the staircase, the group discovers that the little ghost girl can erase her presence with the same level of mastery as the black mage. This is why only the latter could sense it. Once down to the 2nd basement, Light tries to release the Clairvoyance spell, but he finds that the physical and magical mixture of this floor prevents the use of magic, which makes teleportation impossible from this place. So he asks Nemumu to do as planned. The assassin then lets out an ultrasonic cry worthy of a bat, in order to perceive the structure in the basement. This does not fail to make Momo's eardrums buzz, visibly sensitive to high frequency sounds. Finding no stairs nearby, the group continues forward, defeating a headless ghost horse as they pass. In the end, Nemumu finds the 3rd staircase thanks to the echo. Momo finds her wonderful and calls her navel lady; which bothers the young woman. Hearing this, Gold giggles. The little ghost girl admits that her mother always told her that a young lady revealing her belly risks catching a cold.
Going down to the 3rd basement, the Black Clown Mask falls on the Sword of Solitude; although the masked mage justifies himself as credibly as possible, Yudo, suspecting him of having a powerful gift, asks him if he might not be the famous Master. Reacting to his question, Dark wonders how he can know about the Masters; the young dark elf admits that his rank allows him to know everything that is said in the world, and he has been told of the appearance of Masters in the four corners of the continent: on the island of ogres, in the west; to the kingdom of demons, to the south; in the land of the dragonauts, to the east; and to the human kingdom in the north. Assuming that the destroyer of his village might be a Master, the young chief asks him to tell him more; understanding that his interlocutor knows things about the Masters, Yudo orders him to reveal his secrets to him first. Annoyed by his racial superiority syndrome, Dark realizes that Momo is shaking like a leaf. she cries and clings to her big brother's coat, recognizing her kidnapper; Yudo adds a layer by saying that no one will know if one or two inferiors die, and that he will make the young man suffer to find out if he is a threat or not. Tired of his mess and determined to question him, Dark orders his teammates to catch the members of the Sword of Solitude.
Before he begins, he asks Yudo if he really killed and kidnapped humans; the latter, noticing Momo at his side, reveals that this child is the ghost of one of Sionne's human laboratory rats: the latter was carrying out experiments on owners of donations; humans with gifts being rare on the black market, Yudo and his teammates took the easy way out by attacking towns and villages to capture their inhabitants. When his interlocutor asks him if Momo was one of his victims, he adds that he got off hearing them scream in fear. Disgusted by his inhumanity, Dark calls him miserable.
Then begins a separate fight in three simultaneous duels: an agility duel between Nemumu and Eira; a duel of strength between Gold and Rae; and a duel between leaders Dark and Yudo. Eira cracks her magic ribbon like a pair of whips. Complimenting her opponent for dodging her first blow, she still wanted to cut her into pieces; because she is jealous of her beauty, and she reproaches her for having tried to seduce his boss. But no matter how much she twirls her weapon, Nemumu dodges her blows with class and flexibility. Eira hallucinates, believing she is dealing with a Master. Rae, during her duel, admits that she would have preferred to face her sister's opponent and kill her, and that, in her opinion, all the girls around Yudo should die. Gold retorts that it was Yudo who wanted to seduce Nemumu, telling his enemy that she should not arrange this moment to suit her; but the young woman believes he is lying, thinking that no woman can resist Yudo. The golden knight, finding that love makes her blind, dares to say that Yudo is not as virile as the mohawks back home. Rae, irritated, rushes at him, and try to reduce her opponent to shreds; alas, to her great surprise, Gold blocks her axe strike easily and without moving a millimeter. she doesn't dare believe it, thinking that it's impossible for a human to be as strong as her. For his part, Yudo declares that humans exist to be hunted unilaterally, and tells his opponent that he should hate himself for being born into a race of weaklings. Aiming at the young man's legs, he brandishes his swords and rushes to break his calves. Unfortunately, his first thrust is blocked by Gungnir's foot. Faced with the evil look of the black mage, the swordsman jumped back. The three dark elves are morally ridiculed by their enemies: Nemumu retorts to Eira that she is not a Master, and says that her attacks are much too slow; she adds that she doesn't think she's pretty or sassy, telling the martial artist that she shouldn't blame her for her own low self-esteem. Gold tells Rae that her attacks are too simple, and that she only swings her axe without anticipating the opponent's movements. As for Dark, he belittles Yudo for his weak attack, not believing that he kidnapped children with second-rate techniques.
Eira, offended, forces Nemumu to jump and then opt for close combat. The latter, gracefully avoiding the attacks, cuts her ribbon and kicks her in the stomach which knocks her to the ground. Believing she has already won, the martial artist arrogantly talks about the paralyzing rose poison produced by her poisonous robe; but she is stunned: despite all the poison she has administered to her, her enemy is still standing. Nemumu confirms that this poison has no more effect on her than a foul perfume. To show Eira that she can do better than that, she uses Poison Manifestation to coat her knife with her weakest poison; then she pricks the back of her opponent's hand with the tip of her dagger. Burned from the inside, Eira rolls on the ground, drools and sheds tears profusely, before passing out.
Rae, angry, uses the power of her Frenzy Axe to become a berserker as wild and aggressive as a lion; then, Boosted, it begins to attack with all the ferocity of a wild beast. However, the golden knight knows from experience that a fight is not synonymous with mere unleashing power, and that the strong do not stoop to renouncing their thoughts and relying only on physical strength. To teach the warrior a good lesson, he violently pins her to the ground with a blow from his shield. Stunned, Rae passes out.
On the orders of their overlord, Eri sets up a barrier to prevent other adventurers from going down to the 3rd basement, while Mei takes care of the monsters attracted by the noise. Yudo, furious, cannot bear the insult that was given to him; he activates all of his artifacts in order to hope to have the upper hand. Terrified, Momo fears for the lives of her new friends; fortunately, her big brother, with his face exposed, reassures her by saying that he will not let this evil man hurt her. Then, addressing Yudo, he provokes him by saying in a cold tone: <<Come on, insect. I'm going to show you what it means to be on another level>>.
Determined to torture him, the swordsman decides to use the techniques he planned to use against the white knights, starting by charging at full speed, blinding his opponent and following up with rapid thrusts. A vain effort, since the masked mage, with his eyes closed, grabs his rapiers and shatters the blades his bare hands, before striking him in the chest. Yudo, vomiting blood, is knocked down. Enraged, he pulls out a phantasm-class item that can cause instant death, the Eye of Balork. It opens, releasing the light of death. Yudo chuckles deliriously, intending to take advantage of the death of all his enemies to rape their corpses, and then find their families and friends and massacre them. Unfortunately for him, even his cheating proves ineffective: despite the light of death, Dark remains alive and well. He, using Identification, discovers the instant death effect of the Eye of Balork only works on beings below level 3000; being over two times higher in levels, he is naturally immune. Learning that he has incurred the wrath of a level 9999 human, the dark elf breaks out in a cold sweat. Dark turns to his little adopted sister and asks her to wait for him while he neutralizes him. Yudo, thinking he is being lied to, persists, without understanding that he is facing the man who killed the order of knights for whom he wanted revenge. Ultimately, worn out by excessive use, the eye breaks. Realizing that his opponent is stronger then him, Yudo runs off like a hare; but Dark catches up with him as quickly as a cheetah, and delivers an uppercut to his jaw that sends him flying. Yudo crashes into the ground. His conqueror tells him that he will never let him escape; he adds that he will extract information from him, make him confess his crimes against humans and punish him properly. The little ghost girl, amazed by her brother's strength, throws herself into his arms. Thus ends the fight, proving that sooner or later, inevitably, the hunted always end up becoming the hunters.
Light analyzes the defeated: it turns out that, although being A-rank adventurers, Eira and Rae are only level 1000, and Yudo is level 2000, even with all his artifacts activated. Since teleportation is impossible from the 3rd underground, Gold suggests that he and Nemumu go up with the members of the Sword of Solitude so that they can teleport them to Abyss from outside; This proposition displeases the young woman, who wants to guide her master to the last basement. The golden knight reminds his comrade that the objective is to reach the last basement so that Light can take revenge on Sionne and close the portal to the underworld thanks to Eri, and that they are both too weak to accompany them any deeper; hence his suggestion to split into two teams. Nemumu is stubborn, saying that he just has to bring up the 3 dark elves by himself. But Gold confirms that while he can do it, it's difficult to do so while avoiding other people, and that Mei can very well replace her as a guide; Furthermore, Nemumu must take responsibility by carrying Eira, the latter being drenched in sweat and tears because of her poison. realizing her stupidity, the assassin can only curse herself.
Recognizing that Gold's solution is the best, the young monarch tells his generals that they can show themselves, which they do. They will be quiet for the day, Eri having cast a confusion spell. When Light asks her if she can probe the interior of the dungeon like Nemumu, Mei confirms that she can. The two groups separate for the rest of the operation.
Sweeping the basement with an ultrasonic cry, the maid very quickly finds the last staircase; even faster than Nemumu. Once down, the group realizes that the 4th basement is different from the others, consisting of a short corridor at the end of which is a door. Not detecting any trap, they enter a second room, created by copying the 1st basement via space-time interference. Before them stands the guardian of the gate: the fallen sphinx, a level 2000 underworld monster. The spirit beast, speaking to them telepathically, tells them that the soul dragon has sent it. Then he traps them in illusions with a single roar. In the illusion trapping him, Light sees his home and the family fields again. He is surprised to see his family, as he saw it when he was a farmer. Despite being resistant to this mirage thanks to his high level, the young monarch cannot help but cry with nostalgia. Knowing that he cannot last forever, he releases the spell SSR, Awakening. Just as the fallen sphinx was about to mow down Momo, the only one immune to its power, Light wakes up and gives it a killer look, before destroying it; he thus frees Mei and Eri.
The quartet enters the room where Sionne and her companion, the soul dragon, are. While the young woman tells her guests that access to this room is only allowed to people without interest, her brother-in-arms reveals himself and sends her the same greeting as he did for Sasha. Obviously, Sionne is not surprised to see him again; in her eyes, the life of a human represents nothing. Furthermore, she rejoices at having met her destiny with the dragon of souls, whom she considers a king; thanks to the knowledge and help that the latter offers her, she gets closer to the possibility of stealing a human's gift and inserting it into the soul of a being from other people.
Besides, she is not the only one to rejoice: thanks to her, the monster from the otherworld knows that this world is full of souls; and his partner is delighted to offer him an all-you-can-eat buffet. Although Light points out that she is putting lots of people in danger, including her own people, Sionne does not see the problem, she who wants to collect more and more souls. Suddenly, Momo experiences pre-mortem pain; it turns out that this place is the place of her death, just like for the researcher's other guinea pigs. Sionne doesn't care about how old or young they are, saying she has to experiment on everything or it would be pointless.
Eri, Mei and Light are exasperated to hear that she has crossed the line by saying "Evolving requires sacrifice"; a shame to all researchers. They decide to put the brakes on both their psychopathic ambitions.
The soul dragon lets out a Decay Roar in an attempt to kill them instantly; however, the 3 level 9999 beings are not even affected. Light advises the dragon to free Sionne and return to where he came from, but the monster doesn't care; he strikes with his claws, but the black mage blocks the attack with Gungnir. And every attack after is parried the same way. The dragon insists, following up with an unbreakable curse that can melt bones, created thanks to Sionne's knowledge of sorcery. Against all odds, Light escapes intact, breaks the curse, and hurls his enemy with a single blow from gungnir to the face.
The monster, not appreciating this humiliation, looks down on him, saying that his soul is limited and that he is nothing compared to him; when he adds that he will make him taste despair, the sorcerer supreme retorts that because of his former sister-in-arms, he already experienced despair 3 years ago. The young woman responds by saying that she just has to kill his soul. The Soul Dragon then summons 3 of his subordinates and orders them to kill their enemies; Light and his companions destroy them, but these monsters prove capable of regenerating. The 2 public dangers reveal that they are monsters of souls, beings with ephemeral bodies that can regenerate thanks to mana: they never die, their summoner being able to bring them back as long as he has magical energy left; The worst part is that the soul dragon practically never runs out of fuel, since the numerous souls constituting it allow it to have large reserves of mana.
It is then that something strange and sad at the same time happens: the soul monsters cry; they beg their adversaries to finish them off. It turns out that the souls that constitute them suffer because of their summoners. As if this moment was not cruel enough, their tormentors delight in the sight of their suffering; the dragon of souls even licks its fangs. Sionne remembers Light's cries of despair the day he was betrayed by the Gathering of Races; to her, it was a sweet melody to her ears.
This displeases their enemies. Momo, for her part, is frightened: among the souls constituting the creatures are those of her dad and her mom. Sionne and her companion notice the little ghost girl, remembering that they had let the spirits of her parents try to free her, just to create a slight hope for them to have fun, only to create more sorrow and pain. Forced by the soul dragon, the poor little girl turns into a soul monster and attacks her friends against her will. Hearing the monster cry, the trio realizes that Momo is not alone: at least twelve other children's souls constitute this being, with Momo being its dominant spirit.
The poor monsters can't bear to suffer any longer; worse still, their torturer gets off on hearing them. This is too much for the immortal king, who grinds his teeth in anger. he has, unfortunately, no other choice than to purify the soul monsters, in order to be able to save the souls of Sionne's human laboratory rats. He first gives his enemies an icy look saying they were going to die. With a sinking heart, he takes out 4 cards, releasing the SSR spell, Sacred Bouquet, 4 times. The soul monsters, purified, wholeheartedly thank their savior, whom they worship like a god. The infantile soul monster, before disappearing, extends its hand towards Light as a sign of brotherly love.
Sionne and the Soul Dragon are impressed to see that the young monarch has found their soldiers' Achilles' heel, although believing such efforts to be in vain; and they summon 3 more soul monsters, made up of different souls. The monster shows megalomania, believing himself to be a god because he is made up of 100 million souls. The 2 psychopaths sneer, telling their enemies to show them their despair. Alas, they weren't going to laugh for long: Light already knew about the soul dragon's body, and also about its countless souls; that’s why he came prepared. he had also prepared himself in case they had unknown powers, although he was disappointed that their range of attacks was so predictable. he expresses to them his disgust at knowing that each captured soul can suffer. Mei agrees, finding soul dragons to be vile and loathsome beings. For her part, Eri apologizes for not knowing about this detestable species. Her king consoles her by saying that she has nothing to do with it. Having had enough of these two barbarians, he decides to punish them once and for all. He takes out his Ultra Rare Card Holder, and, before their horrified eyes, unfolds 99,999,999 cards, each containing a purification spell. The soul dragon trembles in fear, thinking that it is impossible for a single man to have such power; however, the Sorcerer Supreme confirms that his Unlimited Gacha is a gift that can make the impossible possible.
At his command, released purification spells rain down like a flood of fire. Bombarded by spells, the soul dragon realizes with horror that the purification spells are weakening it. He tries to survive by killing the young man before disappearing, but the latter knocks him down with a blow from Gungnir. Shrinking visibly, the monster from the otherworld begs his executioner to stop this deluge of arrows of light; alas, the black mage confirms that even he cannot stop so many purification spells from being released, before violently pushing him away. Each freed soul comes forward and thanks Light for offering them deliverance. Each attempt of the King of the Underworld attempting to escape his dire fate is thwarted by the King of Abyss, with scepter, knee, fist and foot, freeing more and more departed souls.
This continues until the bond between the monster and its partner is broken. The dragon of souls, reduced to the size of a small animal, thinks he is out of trouble because he survived, and he intends to torture his adversary to death; Unfortunately for him, Light has been holding a weapon capable of destroying the soul since the start of the fight: Gungnir. He removes the Level 1 Release restriction, and he repeats to the monster that its existence is unforgivable.
The monster breaks into a cold sweat at the sight of the power of the Genesis-class javelin; understanding that the soul serving as his heart is exposed, he flees to avoid being killed. But it is too late: Light stops him with the tip of Gungnir in the back. As he prepares to destroy his soul to prevent him from resurrecting, the king of the otherworld tries to bargain with him to save his life; he even offers to kill Sionne for him. But this last proposition makes the immortal king see red; the latter being, in terms of revenge, more of a predator determined to keep his prey for himself than an opportunistic scavenger.
The monster screams in terror, disintegrated by a blast of darkness. Light then sees the last freed soul, that of a baby, nestling in his mother's arms. Happy and relieved to finally be free, the spirits of the victims of the dragon and the mad scientist smile at their rescuer. After holding his hand, Momo finds, after so long, her parents: a young couple. they reassure her by saying that from now on, nothing will be able to separate them. The little one admits that she was able to find them thanks to Light.
Before passing to the other side, the 2 young adults thank the young man for freeing them; thanks to him, they will be able to rest in peace. All spirits go to their eternal resting place in heaven. The former farm boy looks at them, his eyes full of regret. That's when he hears two familiar voices telling him to avoid thinking too much. such was not his surprise when he turned around: it was the spirits of his parents. Thinking he is dealing with another illusion, he is however disabused when they hug him; not only can he see them, but he can also feel them. They have always been by their youngest son's side, even after their death. Light regrets not having been able to prevent the destruction of their home, when he simply wanted to contribute to their happiness. His parents console him by reminding him of the day of his birth: it was a snowy day; and as Light came into the world, the rising sun made him shine. Holding him in her arms, his mother only thought of one thing: letting him experience happiness. When Light held his fingers, his father was happy that he was born, despite how harsh the world was. This birth under the light makes Light a child blessed by the gods.
Feeling their touch and their warmth fading, he realizes that his parents are preparing to leave for the afterlife. No matter how hard he tries to speak to them, no sound comes out of his mouth; No matter how hard he runs, he can't catch up with them. Nevertheless, his last thoughts of love for them reach them; and they leave with a smile.
Coming to his senses, Light realizes that Gungnir's backlash caused him to lose consciousness. Suddenly he feels his right hand burning. Eri, although disturbed by such an injury, helps Mei heal him, bandaging him and applying a constant purification spell. Then the two young women begin to seal Gungnir. Light turns to Sionne, ready to settle the score with her.
The young woman, however, rejoices to see that her old brother in arms has become so powerful; she even asks him if, among the cards now produced by his unlimited Gacha, there is a card that can help her advance in research on souls. But Light reminds her that she has committed unforgivable sins, including a sin of betrayal; he is here to take revenge on her, and make her suffer a punishment close to the last judgment.
Sionne believes that revenge is useless compared to research, telling him that she wants to end the racism humans face by giving gifts to other peoples; and this, even if progress towards this utopian future requires sacrifices. This evocation reminds the young monarch of the good old days; but he is offended to hear that his former comrade took his dream literally. He knows that because of Sionne's experiments, people have died, overcome with pain and regret; that this shabby research stole their future. Refusing to forgive her and cooperate with her, he tells his sister-in-arms, in an explosive tone, that she says that because she has never known betrayal and despair; he adds that she will suffer without ever being able to finish her useless research. Not liking to hear her research being criticized in this way, the young woman loses her temper, believing humans to be idiots to the point of not even understanding the R in the word "research" and that hers is sublime and will produce incredible results in the future. Eri, being a magic researcher herself, retorts that she is the idiot: torturing humans by quantifying them in numbers is just a child's game in bad taste; she adds that if the dark elf continues like this, she will not benefit from her research.
Stubborn, Sionne believes that she is right, and that if it doesn't work, she just has to change her method: for her, the advancement of the world is justice; she even dares to say that even those who were killed should rejoice, she who intends to make them the pillars of her experiences. Unfortunately, her old brother-in-arms retorts that she only talks antics; and to prove to her that the research she is carrying out only leads to death, he releases the SSSR spell which will confront her with reality; Gate of Hell. Turning around, the young woman trembles like a leaf; on the threshold is engraved: <<YOU WHO ENTER HERE, ABANDON ALL HOPE>>. The doors then open, letting out horrible monsters.
As soon as a monster severs her left arm, Sionne screams in pain; Seeing that her arm is intact, she can't believe her eyes; the same thing happens when another monster tears off her right arm. It turns out that Hell's Gate is a versatile spell, with multiple effects: a production of a certain number of vengeful spirits to devour the target, varying according to the latter's sins; an increase in the intensity of pain and torture according to the hatred of the spirits; and automatic regeneration of the injuries caused, coupled with preservation of the sensation of pain.
The young woman, feeling despair herself for the first time in an eternity, begs Light to save her, but nothing helps: her old brother in arms remains unmoved before her, telling her: <<These are the consequences of your research. Enjoy the hell of hatred and suffering that you have created with your own hands>>. She suffers horribly from the weight of her sins; bitten, crunched, dismembered, disembowelled. Finally, the poltergeists drag her towards the gate, which closes behind her, taking the shape and size of a cube. The immortal king picks up the item, concluding that the effect of this spell lasts for one day. Sionne will therefore suffer a day before being spat out; after which, she will experience the same punishment as Garou and Sasha. Once Gungnir is sealed, Eri closes the portal, severing the link with the otherworld. With this, there are only 5 targets of revenge left.
Brotherly reunion with Yume[]
In the days that followed, Sionne was sent to her cell, to oblivion, where she underwent the same treatment as her two former captured comrades; during interrogation, Yudo admits that, as a spy for the archipelago, he received information from Gigis, the representative of the east, that a Master had recently appeared in the human kingdom. Probing his mind reveals the existence of incredible human-like beings to the north of this same realm; which coincides with the position of the village of Light, since this place is to the north. After such confessions, members of the Sword of Solitude were condemned to atone for their sins. Little by little, the distortions of the laboratory disappear; Dark and his companions have become the heroes of the dark elf archipelago. Officially, Sionne and the members of the Sword of Solitude are considered dead, devoured by monsters.
To be able to approach the representatives of the east, west, south and north, Eri will have to leave for the dark elf archipelago under the identity of the Witch of the Tower.
As the young monarch chats with her, Mei enters the office with stunning news: Yume, alive and well, has been located in the royal palace of the human kingdom, where she works as an apprentice servant. Offended to learn that her lord's sister is doing a job that she considers thankless, Eri dares to put her two cents in the middle of the conversation; but the latter silences her by reminding her that Mei has not finished speaking. Embarrassed at having cut off her colleague, the renegade mage apologizes.
Mei does not skimp on the details of her report: Yume was allegedly saved by the 1st princess of the human kingdom, Lilith, who found her passed out on her return to the capital and gave her healing potions; Lilith also feeds the poor, and she likes to share, in addition to having a strong sense of justice. She was the one who employed Yume. Light is now sure of one thing: his sister managed to escape the village massacre; However, he does not know how she could have been separated from Els, nor how she could have ended up so far away.
Thanking his right arm for giving him such good news, the immortal king decides to send people to protect the young girl in the shadows, and to prepare for her trip to Abyss. Eri offers, but since she already has responsibilities at the tower, Mei will be in charge of operations. To allow Yume to come willingly, Eri suggests offering Lilith a tour of the tower with Lief, so that the human princess can come with all her servants; an idea that pleases her king.
While Eri contacts the Elf Queen to send a letter to the princess, Light and Mei put a plan in place. On the big day, Mei rides a dragon to the human kingdom to look for Lilith and her brother, Prince Crow, as well as the servants and knights who accompany them. Meanwhile, at the tower, Light uses Presence Wipe to hide; All he has to do is wait quietly in the women's waiting room, on the 1st floor.
Once the young ladies enter, the young monarch recognizes his sister, even though she grew up during his absence. He then reveals his presence to the surprise of a knight. With misty eyes, Light addresses Yume, saying: <<Yume... I'm glad you're safe and sound >>. Recognizing her brother, Yume, unable to hold back her tears, throws herself into his arms; it is a reunion marked by tears, after three long years far from each other.
Surprised to see that their young colleague knows this man who has just appeared before their eyes, the maids and the knight suddenly find themselves asleep, caught up by Mei and the other maids. Light reassures Yume: they were simply asleep. He apologize to Mei for showing up before the ladies were anesthetized; Mei forgives him, saying it's natural to react this way. Prostrating herself, she then presents herself to her lady. Yume is surprised to learn that her brother has been climbing the social ladder in the shadows, and that one of his subjects is level 9999.
Looking at him closely, she notices that he hasn't changed; the former farm boy explains that a lot of things have happened since he left the village, and he suggests going to talk about it in a quieter place.
The young girl tells him that, as the princess's servant, she cannot leave, for fear of being scolded by Nono, her superior; but fortunately, Light has planned everything: he gives Yume a card and asks her to say "Liberation". Yume follows her brother's advice, and at that moment, a clone of her appears. The spell she just released is a UR spell, Second Shadow; the same spell that allows Light to ensure the permanent production of magic cards, even during his absence.
Now free to leave, Yume lets her clone do the rest: work under Lilith under her identity. Mei and the other maids erase the memories of their king's appearance from the memories of Lilith and Crow's maids. Then, Light teleports with his sister to their new home, in his underground castle. There, the servants and friends of the immortal king warmly welcome their lady. Nazuna and Aoyuki have the honor of introducing themselves first: the monster trainer hugs Yume, who delicately strokes her head; As for the vampire knight, she tells her lady that she can count on her. Yume then calls her big sister, which surprises and delights Nazuna, who is moved to be considered as such. As Nemumu prepares to introduce herself, Gold suggests postponing the introductions until Yume can rest; Jack, Mera, Suzu and Lock share his opinion. After introducing herself, Ice-Heat prepares to lead her lady to her room; the latter thanks her, although surprised to be called princess. The two survivors go there, hand in hand, like when they were children.
Meanwhile, Crow and his sister talk with Eri, unsure of what her face looks like. In the evening, the witch of the Tower offers the guests a banquet worthy of a king's feast: vegetables, seafood and meat dishes of historic taste, without bitterness or bad smell; Lilith even melted with pleasure while enjoying a delicious cheesecake. Later, in the night, Eri reveals herself to Lilith openly in her room, invites her on behalf of Light to a secret meeting so that he can thank her for having saved Yume, and reveals to her that the latter is now safe under the protection of her brother's kingdom.
After dressing her, Eri teleports with Lilith to the last basement of Abyss, within the castle. She then leads her to the throne room, where Light is waiting for her. Seeing him seated on the throne, surrounded by servants of all kinds, the princess understands that she is dealing with a monster of power; the very embodiment of power and true desperation. Knowing what her potential future ally is capable of with such an army, she hesitates to kneel before him; but the inhabitants of the underground kingdom, not liking to see her bow before their king, exude such hostility that she trembles with fear. Fortunately, the immortal king reminds his subjects that the princess is his guest; they therefore completely calm their hostility.
Introducing himself to the princess, he thanks her for saving his sister; then, he gifts her with three superior healing potions (although Lilith only used one intermediate healing potion) and a barrel of gold coins whose contents exceed the national budget of the human kingdom, so that she can have personal funds. He also offers Lilith an additional gift of her choice: a Bracelet of Eternal Youth, a Potion of Rejuvenation, a pair of Poison Immunity Earrings, among other choices. Lilith's choice is made: borrowing one of the monsters from Abyss, in order to ensure the supremacy of her kingdom; Light agrees, understanding that she is thinking of the well-being of her people first.
The next day, Lilith uses Second Shadow via a card, letting her clone continue the tour of the Giant Tower lands for her. On the 4th floor, Light confesses to the princess how it was decided to kill him after he was nominated for the title of Master, his plan of revenge against the other former members of the Gathering of Races, and the dark veil over the reason for the destruction of his village when he was already presumed dead.
When he asks her if she knows anything about the Master and the candidates for that title, Lilith reveals that the other races do not regard members of human royalty seriously enough in diplomatic terms to entrust them with such secrets. The two nobles prefer to take their time for Lilith's takeover, so as not to alert other people; not to mention that, as long as the spies sent by the latter are not unmasked and neutralized, the princess can't ascend the throne in peace. Light also learns that the human kingdom cannot even decide on the choice of its king or queen, unfortunately depending on the number of votes of the 8 other countries of the other races. The two nobles decide to apply a common idea on the day of the international conference: use this regulation and ensure that countries under the control of Abysse vote for the coronation of Lilith as queen of humans. But first, they must identify the moles in the castle, and then either fire them or guillotine them.
The visit ended, while Lilith remains at the tower to continue discussing future plans with her host, the other envoys from the human kingdom return home, in the company of her clone. At Abyss Castle, Yume reveals to Light that on the night their village was destroyed, explosions rang out; and the buildings were smoking. Els had held her in his arms until this massacre stopped, after which he had carried her so he could escape with her. Only, They fell into the nearby river, and were washed ashore, near the capital. It is likely that Els dropped his sister off in the capital, before going to hide elsewhere.
In order to have more details, the young monarch asks Eri to search Yume's memory as painlessly as possible. Understanding, the renegade mage puts the princess to sleep, puts her in her bed, and probes her memories as precisely and delicately as possible. A week later, she comes across the memory of the moment of the village's destruction, which reveals the most striking information to her: the culprit appeared to be a level 9000 human; he had attacked the village from the sky. Although surprised to hear such information, Light now has a clue about his parents' murderer; and he fully intends to avenge their deaths.
Before taking revenge on this being as dangerous as a Master, with Mei and Eri, Light decides to establish contact with the nobles of the dark elf archipelago and take control of it, as well as to seek information within the kingdom of dwarves, which offers him the opportunity to take revenge on the fourth traitor: Nano. Allying with the dwarves is a thing: their thirst for knowledge and their desire for artisanal gain make them reliable allies; moreover, it will allow them to gain a lot without conflict. The sorcerer supreme expresses his eagerness to see how Nano will look when his own country betrays him.
On his orders, Eri sends the cardinal representatives the evidence that the Sword of Solitude was spying on the other countries under their orders, before leaving to speak with them in person. But these old foxes are so obsessed with their reputation that they call on a secret group specializing in combat, the Anbu, to kill her. But it ended in failure: not only did the witch of the Tower sense the danger, but the four clan leaders underestimated her; thus, the assassins were all murdered by decapitation. Seeing the young woman place their heads on the floor, the clan leaders tried to save face; but Eri was still going to check their memories regardless, which makes them turn pale. She ties them up with Bonds of Thorns and keeps them quiet with Silent. Madone, the representative of the west, tries to free himself with an attack spell; alas, Eri twists his arm.
After a painful mental check, the four clan leaders are killed for attempting to assassinate the Witch of the Tower and for discriminating against the human people for scientific and economic purposes; their successors are much more moderate. Eri reports to her king that, according to the memories of the old clan leaders, a powerful human (probably a Master) appeared on Onijima, the ogre island; It is precisely there that the fifth deceiver, Oboro, lives. Preferring not to do too much, Light decides to focus on finding clues to the Dwarf Kingdom and revenge against Nano, and postponing the trip to Onijima until later.
Nano, the forbidden blacksmith[]
Knowing that the dwarves only pursue their personal interests, that they are less discriminatory towards human craftsmen and that the ban on research into past technologies does not please them, Light sends Nemumu to invite Dagan, the king of the dwarves, to a meeting in the shadows; he also entrusts a ghost-class artifact that the young woman presents to his majesty: the ring of Immunity to poison. Fascinated by the object, Dagan willingly accepts, and the emissary teleports with him to the Giant Tower.
After a friendly welcome, Light, under the pseudonym Nanashi, has a heart-to-heart with Dagan: according to him, the king of dragonewts and the king of demons are the ones who decided that the former candidates for the title of Master had to be killed if they are determined not to be Masters; Light therefore understands that the dragonewts and demons are the key to the mystery. When he asks Dagan why current technology is inhibited, he replies that this was done under the pretext that if technology develops, the world will be destroyed; results, research and restoration of past civilizations was prohibited. And anyone who tries to break the 9-races treaty risks the death penalty. However, the research on this civilization is the most interesting: the possibility of creating Phantasm class objects, and even a mythological class object; the extinction of the past civilization remains a mystery. Fortunately, some ruins remain beneath the dwarven kingdom, a well-kept secret for generations. The two monarchs decide by mutual agreement to visit the underground ruins.
The following day, accompanied by Mei, Nazuna, Mera, Jack, Suzu and Lock, Light explores the ruins alongside Dagan and the inspection corps: the architecture of the buildings is such that they have never seen before ; and a hole of great width stands up, surrounded by pointed columns made of a material harder than all the rest, almost indestructible. However, Nazuna, having seen Jack and Mera test the hardness of the material, tries by putting all her strength into it, managing to break a piece off of one of the pillars. So that the 3 dwarves can study this material without arguing or fighting, she offers each one a fragment.
Everyone goes down the hole via an elevator of magic threads woven by Mei. After 100 meters, she opens a window to the outside; and the surprise is big: an immense meadow bordered by forests.
After making landfall, Suzu and Lock think there is not a soul alive; but Nazuna advises them to remain on their guard, because she sensed something strange in the area. Her companions are of the same opinion: the place is far too quiet. Jack and the others take Dagan and his colleagues under their protection, while they analyze the soil. Mera fissiones, transforming some of her cells into a flock of birds and a pack of wolves, and sends them to investigate the surrounding terrain.
As they prepare to set up camp, Light and Mei perceive enemy presences; that's when at least 100 animal golems come out of the first wood. The most skilled explorers in combat stand in the way, Suzu and Lock opening the ball with a burst of fire at maximum rate; bullets rain down on the golems, which end up in pieces. But the golems of ancient ruins are indeed different from their cousins on the surface: they can regenerate once demolished, and continue to advance. And as if the situation wasn't bad enough, hundreds of other golems emerge from the woods. Fortunately, the sniper is always ready to keep them at bay.
To better understand how they work, the Immortal King asks Mei to capture a golem in order to study it; the golem placed on a sheet of wire, he breaks it with Gungnir's foot. Analyzing it, the group notices that the golem lacks an internal core; this is surely the same case for other golems. Suddenly, other golems appear from the plains, surrounding the explorers. Which doesn't stop Suzu from reducing them to dust. Oddly enough, the golem that is being studied is not regenerating. Light realizes that Mei's magical threads are severing it’s connection to the core. This leads him to a revelation: the entire underground world serves as the outer core.
That's when one of Mera's cell hounds returns after finding something. After absorbing it and a little analysis of its memories, the chimera discovers that there is a smell of water under one of the spiral structures, and a second hole to descend. Before heading towards the famous tunnel, Light releases the spell SSR, Ultra Wide Adhesive, to break the golems' link with the underworld and prevent them from multiplying. Then Mera recalls her fissions and absorbs them.
An hour later, the group arrives at the second hole, the cover of which appears to have been forced open. Mei opens the hole completely and weaves an elevator into it. Everyone goes in, and the elevator goes down; After 100 meters, the hole opens onto a second level of the underworld: a huge ocean, with an island in the middle. Mera sends new fissions to explore the surroundings. Everyone relaxes on the island while waiting for them to return.
A few hours later, the fissions returned, having found another double helix structure, and a small island south of the group's positions. Light releases the Flight spell to allow the entire group to fly, and Mei uses her magic strings to connect to the dwarves, ensuring their protection.
The explorers continue on their way, Mera leading the way. Along the way, they see a school of fish; there even seems to be a whale. However, it is not an ordinary cetacean: it is the guardian of the second level; a sea monster. To be precise, it's a long-finned pilot whale at level 3000. While Mei and Jack protect Dagan and the other dwarves, Suzu ducks the roqual, which releases a stormy breath which she dodges. Mera then splits a horned orca to pull the monster out of the water, giving her friend the advantage. Meanwhile, the local flying fish attempt to attack the intruders; but it is all for nothing: they can't jump high enough to reach them, and those who get too close get cut up by Mei or bounce off Jack.
But this is only the beginning: the sea turns out to be the body of an artificial living being; an ocean slime. The latter tries to capture Mera and Suzu to drown them or to pierce them via the fish's rostrum, but its opponents dodge its arms. Suzu and Lock hurt it’s left arm; however, the monster regenerate its lost arm. Suddenly, the slime throws fish at its opponents; a gesture which risks costing him his life: while half of the fish thrown are screened by Suzu, Mera eats and assimilates the other half, before fissioning the assimilated fish and sending them to destroy the second brain of the monster, disturbing the stability of his body. The ocean slime eventually dissolves.
After destroying the cores of the other monsters and removing parts of their bodies for analysis, the group lands on the island they spotted earlier. While exploring it, they found a third hole, the cover of which was destroyed. Preferring to postpone the rest of the trip until the next day, Light decides to camp for the night; and for the comfort of all, it frees two magnificent chalets. Nazuna, having a bad feeling about the third level, warns him.
Light trusts his friend's instincts. The next day, the explorers remain on guard. Going down the third hole, they discover the third level: there are smooth, circular craters, and black monoliths everywhere. Upon examining the craters, the Sorcerer Supreme realizes that they were caused by a Mythological-class weapon. At that moment, alerted by his instinct, he shouts for everyone to get on the ground. A spherical energy projectile flies toward them. Although Mei puts up a wall of wires, it gets pierced by the projectile, like a sheet of paper. Jack prepares to parry, but Nazuna warns him not to try and let her do it. The vampire knight returns the projectile, which pierces a monolith before disappearing.
Sensing danger, Light and his companions turn their eyes to the right; what appears to be a snake-tailed robot then appears. It's this mechanical abomination, the shooter. Suzu and Lock shoot at the beast, but it passes through it like a ghost. Mei, via Identification, discovers why: this thing has no level; it is the masterpiece of ancient civilization: a mythological-class artifact weapon. As a result Suzu and Lock's attacks are ineffective. This is where Nazuna comes in: being the strongest in Abyss, she manages to send the weapon flying with a circular sword slash; and even if her opponent stands after the first attack, she is delighted to have found an opponent worthy of her.
With this autonomous weapon as an opponent, she will be able to unleash the full power of her mythological-class great sword, Prometheus. This duel is very serious: Nazuna fights with all her strength, pushing back the mechanical warrior; to spice things up, she uses Prometheus' power to multiply herself by 5. The clones and the original fiercely attack the autonomous weapon, severing it arm; but the machine fights back, firing several small energy spheres at them. Although injured, the knights rewind their physical state and set off again.
Seeing that his attack earlier had no effect, the weapon uses his head: he flees crossing the monoliths, and carries out a traitorous attack on the rest of the group; luckily, 3 of Nazuna's copies counter the shots. Having seen the artifact's capabilities, Light uses the Blast spell to halt its movements, allowing Nazuna to find openings. As the weapon cannot use its skill, World Dissociation, indefinitely, Nazuna and her doubles end up breaking it with a synchro attack.
With his iron body, Jack protects everyone from the fragments of monoliths thrown by the blast of impact. After dispelling her clones, Nazuna smiles at her master, proud of having won. But the weapon's severed arm was lying in ambush for her, ready to disintegrate her upper body from behind; only, Light spotted it before it had a chance to attack, and he threw Gungnir at his head, like a boomerang, destroying him once and for all. Then he calmly scolds Nazuna for her recklessness. Hearing this, the silver-haired girl panics after her lord throws his scepter behind her head and whimpers. Light reassures and consoles her.
Once Nazuna is calmed, Dagan and his men analyze the fragments of the mythological-class weapon. While searching on her own, Mera finds what remains of the dwarven adventurers who explored the ruins in the past: a fragment of a sword blade. She gives it to her overlord, who stores the fragment, understanding that these unfortunate people went as far as the 3rd level and that they broke their teeth in the face of the intelligent weapon. After a day-long examination, the explorers rest in their cabins, before finding the last hole and descending it via a wire elevator. The last level seems ordinary, but is, in reality, surprising: a large city made up of square-roofed houses, with natural parks here and there; a city worthy of the 21st century.
Entering one of the houses, they discover a modern dining room and a contemporary living room. As they exit, Nazuna sees a church and informs the rest of the group. There, the atmosphere is the same as that of the Church of the Goddess of Light, which can be found on the surface. Inside, they discover a huge painted fresco retracing the history of a legendary war: on the left side, the autonomous weapon from two days ago is represented, as well as the nine races united into one army of good, led by black-haired human knights, equipped with mythological and genesis class weapons; these paladins are the Masters. The right side of the stone painting depicts numerous monsters, summoned by what appears to be an evil god. However, the fresco is incomplete; making it impossible to see the whole body of the being whose mouth is visible.
Light then understands that the Master Candidates are wrongly suspected of being this god of evil. Through lupine fission, Mera finds the building containing the archives and the treasure room; the books in the archives are numerous. Although he is unable to decipher them with his current knowledge, Light is impressed by how detailed the drawings of animals and monsters in a book written by a schoolboy are. The treasury includes rectangular safes, the walls of which have no entrances or exits. Then, Nazuna delicately cuts a door threshold in the first safe with Prometheus; and then, Dagan and the other dwarves are very excited: the safe contains gold, silver and jewels. And that's not all: the other safes contain swords and spears, armor and shields, magic weapons, magic items... It's the treasure of an entire world ahead of its time !!
Dagan thanks Light from the bottom of his heart, promises to give him some of the magic weapons and some of the magic items, and gives him the national seal: a hammer of a dragon on the left and right sides, with a hammer engraved on the pommel ; thanks to this token of approval, not only will Light be able to do whatever he wants in the dwarven territory, but he will also have the privilege of commanding soldiers and the right of succession. Although not interested in the royal throne, he is delighted to have Dagan's full cooperation; thus, he can ask him to persuade his people and make Lilith the new queen of humans. He may even investigate Nano's crime and put him behind bars. Light gives the piece of sword to Dagan and admits to him that it is worth this place remaining secret and becoming a burial place for these brave explorers who preceded them; understanding, Dagan replies that the dead explorers would be delighted to hear it from heaven.
Only Mera remains to gather and absorb the fissions of the artificial ocean before returning directly to Abyss; the others return to the surface by Teleportation. Light and Dagan plan to create a research center on the surface; Meanwhile, another, top secret facility, would be built on the last level of the ruins. After a few goodbyes, Light and his companions return home; exhausted from their long journey of exploration, they take a well-deserved rest. Slumped on his bed, Light proudly brandishes the seal; then, placing it against his chest, he becomes ecstatic at the idea of his 4th revenge.
Shortly after, Ice-Heat informs him of a recent morbid and terrible event: Nano forged the Sword of Terror, an artifact class forbidden weapon, using human slaves as material; and he tested it by attacking a beastman adventurer. And if that wasn't enough, he has a contact: a male human merchant, so seemingly normal that he's suspicious. Realizing that his old brother-in-arms went so far as to forge cursed equipment to realize his dream of forging legendary equipment, the master spearman then plans a date for a three-in-one plan: capture the suspicious merchant, put an end to Nano's madness, and make him sink into despair.
That night, Light ventures into town, hidden by his mask and his coat, and lures Nano with his presence. The latter, impatient to feed his sword with his blood, follows him and prepares an ambush in a place that everyone avoids. When his potential victim turns to stare at him, Nano is surprised to see a young human man. Telling him that it is dangerous to go out at midnight, he takes out his weapon and rushes towards him to stab him; but to his great surprise, the blade is blocked by the boy's scepter, who sends him flying with a kick to the chest. Additionally, the Sword of Terror has no effect on him. Light, smiling, points out to the corrupted blacksmith that his blacksmithing skills and fighting abilities have not changed. Surprised to hear this familiar voice, Nano can't believe it: his old human brother in arms is alive. Removing his hood and mask, Light greets him: <<Long time no see, Nano. I came back from Abyss to take revenge>>.
Nano thinks it's impossible, and yet Light confirms that he is real and that he stopped his growth so as not to forget the way he and the other members of the Gathering of Races got rid of him and tried to kill him. In his madness, the crazed murderer reveals his regret at not having cruelly killed him and his anger at having seen his dream shattered, making him wrongly take the blame.
Then he expresses the joy of having received the Forbidden Equipment Manufacture Manual, thus obtaining a new opportunity to make his childhood dream a reality; proud of his creation, he is ready to forgive his old friend after having made fodder for his <<masterpiece>>. Light, seeing that his former friend wants to kill him with the Sword of Terror, reminds him that it was he who lured him to this ill-famed place; but of course, Nano believes that he has been stupid and naive, and dependent on magic items. He naively believes that a so-called human "trash" is no match for him, a level 300 dwarf armed with a cursed artifact-class sword. However, the master spearman proves him wrong by parrying the slightest of his attacks and delivering a mortal blow to his chest with Gungnir; he reveals to him that he already knew this information and that he came prepared. Resuming, the duel between the two brothers in arms from long ago reveals the real gap between them. While Nano shouts at Light to know his place, he retorts that he is the one who must know his place. with a flick of the wrist, the supreme sorcerer disarms the crazy murderer, before sending him flying with a kick to the face. Believing wrongly that Light want to steal his <<legendary sword>>, Nano orders him to go away. But Light don't want this disgusting blade. Seeing Gungnir's foot on the flat of the blade, Nano panics and begs his old brother-in-arms to spare his <<wonder>>. Alas, the stoic black mage tells him that a weapon forged at the cost of sacrificing human lives has no place in history books or fairy tales. He raises his scepter and shatters the Sword of Terror, much to the blacksmith's dismay. The latter, consumed by grief, throws himself at him; but Light knocks him out with a violent kick that breaks his teeth.
Without warning, the merchant who sold the Forbidden Equipment Manufacture Manual to Nano appears. The latter, knowing about the Giant Tower, analyzes Light and believes that the latter is only level 1000, without knowing that he is being fooled. Wondering how his interlocutor was able to defeat the white knights, he decides to "directly question" the body and the soul. Light asks him who he is; he adds that the merchant does not need to capture or torture him, that he can ask normally, and that he will be entitled to an honest answer. Having nothing to do with it, the villain lets slip an inhuman murderous intention. It is then that he reveals new information which is enough to alert Light: the existence of a being named <<C>>.
He decides to continue the conversation after catching the young man; and he insists that he finish Nano. This displeases Light, who does not appreciate being deprived of his revenge; but the psychopath doesn't care, finding that he has more important things to do than this "boring" revenge. Annoyed to see his honor thus violated, the masked avenger restrains his anger; and seeing that his interlocutor does not want to discuss or answer his question, he refuses to divulge any information. The merchant says there is no need, since it is a unilateral capture. However, informed by Mei telepathically, Light confirms that the prey in this one-sided capture is the merchant, whose identity he reveals as: Kavaa, the level 5000 flesh zombie.
Surprised to hear that the young man not only knows his name, but also his job and his level, Kavaa notices, too late, the formation of a barrier of wires isolating the area where he is; he is trapped, like a mosquito caught in a spider's web. Only Light and Mei are with him, Nano being outside the dome. Although admitting to having been reckless, the trickster refuses to reveal what <<C>> is. Looking down on his opponents believing they are too weak to defeat him, he reveals his steel-muscled body, ripping his clothes to shreds. Proud of his real body, created from hundreds of human corpses, Kavaa charges and delivers a good punch and a good kick that shakes the earth; blows that his opponents dodge.
Kavaa admits to being amazed by their fluidity of movement; for his part, Light admits to being impressed by his speed and power. The flesh zombie boasts of his body created by a Master; on the other hand, it reveals the sustenance problem linked to this same body: he must regularly eat humans. And to add insult to injury, he says he enjoys devouring humans alive, especially those with a strong relationship. He even admits to delighting in the moment when, after his victims have begged him, he devours their child, their sister, their brother or their lover; for him, the best spices are screams, despair and tears. Hearing these words, Light, feeling the rage rising in his mind, told him to shut up; Kavaa, not seriously taking his intention to make him feel the pain, regret and despair of for massacring numerous humans, rushes in to demolish him. Which turns out to be a big mistake on his part: the Herculean young man, with a punch as a display, crushes his right fist, before knocking him away with a kick to the chest. The flesh zombie, with his arm bloodied, can hardly believe it. The height of irony is that his opponent provokes him by saying that he had only eaten weaklings.
Kavaa, believing that the young man was able to defeat the white knights only thanks to a magical object or weapon, regenerates his crushed arm and takes out his secret weapon: cursed blades integrated into his body, allowing him to surpass even the phantasm class cursed weapon.
Proud of the fact that a slight physical contact with him is enough to cause a painful death, he threatens, with a smile on his lips, that it is too late for his enemies to beg for their lives and that they will be entitled to a death full of regrets. But the latter confirms that he is exaggerating a curse that cannot even affect them. Incorrectly believing that they are bluffing, Light decides to show him proof of what they are saying; and suddenly, Kavaa seizes with terror. Light summons, before his eyes, a UR weapon that only five beings above level 9000, including himself, can wield without any risk: the cursed mythological-class scimitar; World Devourer.
Kavaa can't believe it: his opponent was holding a cursed mythological-class saber in his hand without being affected in the least. When he reveals to him that he is immune as a level 9999 being, he refuses to believe it, believing that it is a bluff. Light reveals to him that he distorted his stats window to lure him out; Kavaa, incredulous, persists in taking these statements as nonsense. But Light taunts him, telling him that he can verify it by himself. The flesh zombie, furious, lunges at him to kill him. Alas, the overlord of the Abyss pushes him away before clearly cutting off his right hand. Feeling pain for the first time, Kavaa screams at the top of his lungs.
It's clear that, despite the sword being the weapon type he's least good with, Light has improved significantly from the past. Faced with his opponent's incomprehension, he reveals to him that the World Devourer, in addition to cutting the flesh, damages the connections between the body and the soul, causing intense spiritual pain; and the worst part is that the wounds thus inflicted cannot even be healed with ordinary healing magic.
Realizing that his two enemies are really level 9999, Kavaa realizes that he is facing the equivalents of a Master and wonders if they really have no connection to <<C>>. To try to escape, he takes out a Teleportation Stone from his mouth and activates it by biting; unfortunately, the barrier prevents him from escaping, as well as from contacting anyone from the outside world. Seeing his conqueror coming forward, Kavaa begs him not to kill him, which could attract the suspicion of his master; he swears to him that he is someone powerful, and warns it is better not to make an enemy of his master. Unfortunately for him, the immortal king, having already experienced the injustice between the weak and the strong, has nothing to do with it; stomping forward, he told him that even if the whole world became his enemy, he would crush every last one of them.
With these words, Light slices off Kavaa's left arm; the latter crawls to try to escape his fate. But he is stopped by his executioner, who cuts off his legs, causing him to pass out. Once captured, Mei raises the barrier; Eri cleans and repairs the damage caused, aided by Nazuna, before teleporting Kavaa to the lowest floor of the Giant Tower and ripping the information he holds about the Masters and <<C>> from his mind. Meanwhile, Light and Mei teleport with Nano, still unconscious, to the deepest floor of the Abyss.
The corrupted blacksmith, healed, wakes up on the training ground, wondering where he is and why he is here; seeing Light in front of him, instead of worrying about his fate, he blames him for destroying his creation. He retorts, once again, that cursed weapons will never become legendary weapons. Stubborn, Nano calls him incompetent and tells him that he cannot understand the value of such an item. Light presents him with three choices: confess his crimes and return to the dwarven kingdom, accept capital punishment where he currently is and receive a quick and painless death, or try to kill his old brother-in-arms and then try to escape from the lowest floor of the Abyss.
Hearing these last words, Nano doubts their veracity; but Light confirms his sincerity. And even though Nano denies his sins in the first place, he reminds him that he violated the 9 races treaty by using humans as materials for forging the Sword of Terror, and that he killed numerous humans and many dwarves. Although admitting to his crimes, the forbidden blacksmith sees no harm in using humans as materials, seeing them as nothing more than reusable scrap metal. Understanding that it is useless to argue with him, the former human member of the Gathering of Races urges his former dwarf comrade to choose quickly.
Nano goes for the third choice and tries to kill him with his fists; However, on each attempt, Light dodges and knocks him to the ground with an elbow, a slap or a backhand, while pointing out that he is below average compared to dwarves in basic martial arts. Nano, cunning, cheats: he throws his coat, pushed aside by the ultimate survivor, before attempting to stab Light with an artifact-class knife that he had forged before the Sword of Terror. But against all expectations, his old brother-in-arms laughed, as if the blade had only tickled him; and for good reason, Nano's cowardly effort turns out to be in vain: he was only able to make a hole in Light's sweater where he had just hit him.
He believes that the Immortal King is hiding a magic item, but the latter denies this because he has nothing on him, and also because he is 9699 levels higher than him. Nano doubts his brother-in-arms' rise to level 9999. Alas, Light abruptly pulls him out of his disillusion: he points out that his weapon didn't even scratch him; then he squeezes his wrist so hard that the stubborn dreamer drops his knife. then, Light cuts his right hand with only the edge of his hand, before knocking him to the ground with a violent kick.
Nano screams in pain as he holds his blooded severed wrist. Light then reveals a glimpse of the true power of the Unlimited Gacha, introducing him to his army. The maids and wizards look down on their prisoner with a look full of hostility, bringing him face to face with his true nature: a failed blacksmith, pretentious and lacking in talent. Faced with so much hostility, Nano now understood that he was no match. Light then tells him that King Dagan and the best craftsmen thought the same about him as the people of Abyss did. He then shows him the proof of his condemnation to a fate worse than death: a document marked with the royal seal, where it is written: "Any sentence against the criminal Nano will be executed by Light". The blacksmith sealed his fate the moment he decided to forge cursed equipment.
When Light asks him what he knows about Kavaa, Nano replies that the latter is just a greedy merchant with whom he made a deal with and knows nothing about him. Light believes him, but just in case asks Eri to search his memories to be sure. Eri accepts, determined to use the most painful method possible.
Nano, megalomaniac, threatens Light with a presumptuous smile: <<Kill me if you want! But don't forget! The Gathering of Races will not allow someone like you to run free! You can wait and wait and wait until the end comes, shivering and shaking like a coward! I will be the one looking forward to meeting you in hell!>>. Unfortunately for him, this threat makes his old brother-in-arms laugh, who realizes that the naive dwarf had only been forging weapons and knew nothing about the recent developments in three of the nine countries of the nine races. Nano, shocked, learns that he is the fourth former member of the gathering of the races that has been taken down, Light having already dealt with Garou, Sasha and Sionne. The immortal king adds that he is not going to kill him, that he will never allow those who deceived and betrayed him an easy death, and that, like their three brothers and sisters in arms, Nano will be entitled to a painful agony to make him regret the day of his birth. And since he has always dreamed of forging a legendary weapon, the punishment he deserves will ironically allow him to make his dream a reality: he is condemned to forge weapons from his own body.
Light tells him that he has nothing to fear from his injuries: even if he rips out his heart, Nano will be constantly cared for; the king of Abyss even gathered the best healers in his kingdom for this, to allow him to experience despair without any concern. At his command, the healers seize the criminal. Uncomprehending, Nano asks him if he feels no pain for what he does to him and if he has no pity. Light responds that, for him, he has good reasons to have no pity for him: for what he put his victims through, he must graciously accept his fate. Nano, consumed by despair, vainly begs Light for help, pleading his supposed innocence and begging him to give him another chance to forge a legendary weapon. His old brother in arms, inflexible, replies that this punishment will allow him to forge as many legendary weapons as he wishes, until the end, until he becomes his last masterpiece. Finally, Light gives him his right hand, so he can forge a weapon with. Panicked at the thought of becoming a weapon, Nano struggles; but the healers pull him to the castle's forge; the door slams after their exit. With this, Light has taken half of his former comrades, with only 4 targets remaining.
The slaughter of the beastmen[]
Nano's interrogation revealed no new information; on the other hand, that of Kavaa turned out to be more juicy: the latter turns out to be a failed artificial Master. The name of his creator, Hisomi, a Master. However, Kavaa don't know his face; and he is born alone.
There is a good chance that many Masters existed in this era; there is also talk of 3 projects in their possession, including the famous Avatar Project: a failed attempt to create puppets controllable by the mind, equivalent to the weapons of ancient times. This same project alone requires many sacrifices to produce results. The Masters are also cautious: no one knows where Kavaa was created. Sending him to the Giant Tower for interrogation was a good thing: as Hisomi can communicate with his creation via a magical object implanted on the forehead, it is better to interrogate Kavaa in another place.
Unfortunately, as Kavaa has a body made up of several humans, his mind is chaotic: thus, his memories are mixed; neither information on the identity of the Masters, nor on <<C>>. At least some information was obtained by trying to pull the worms out of him. Right now, he is suffering what he did to his victims: agony; slowly but surely, he will deteriorate and die in excruciating pain. On Light's orders, Eri sets out to permanently dismantle a black market selling illegally captured human slaves, and make potential buyers pay for their crimes.
As Light thinks about the news about <<C>>, Nazuna shyly enters, announcing that Yume would like to see him. Realizing that he hasn't taken the time to see his sister, the former farm boy decides to take a break and invite everyone to a tea party in the castle garden, under the artificial sun.
A few days later, the Mask of the Black Clown embarks on a new quest.
In his office, Light chats with Mei about their cooperative bond with the Dwarf Kingdom, also reminiscing about the good old days with Erio and Mia. But terrible news, from the Mohawks, is announced to him: beastmen have kidnapped Miya and a young blonde girl named Cuone.
For now, the Mohawks continue the search in the forest with Erio, ready to warn Aoyuki if they have anything new. The beastmen, to go unnoticed, used the river. A few days later, Miya's location is found, and it turns out that the beastmen have kidnapped humans to become soldiers and that they have taken their loved ones hostage: their love, their family, their friends... All this with the aim of declaring war on the witch of the Tower. Furious, the immortal king breaks his desk in two. Once calmed down, he decides to save the slaves and hostages: Aoyuki is responsible for locating them and foiling their captors' plan at the root; Mei is allowed to use all necessary resources. As for Eri, she is responsible for saving humans on the battlefield; and to make every wolf-man, every tiger-man, every bird-man, every bear-man, and every ox-man pay, without letting a single one escape. She even has white card to use one of the 9 most dangerous and difficult to handle mythology class items. Those foolish beastkin will regret this declaration of war.
After the meeting, Light cheers up Nazuna, who was demoralized by Aoyuki, who revealed everything.
So that public eyes are turned towards the witch of the Tower, Eri suggests to her sovereign to invoke 2 new forces; ultra-powerful subordinates; including one similar in stature to Light. The latter, seduced by the suggestion, receives the two cards to release, which Eri obtained from Anelia.
Thus, the Sorcerer Supreme summons two UR young men of level 8888: Orca, the illusionist; and Chaos, the child of disorder. While one, polite, presents himself by bowing his back, the other, more ready to test his potential master, warns that he does not receive orders from anyone weaker than him.
After some explanations from Eri, Orca, touched by Light's sad and heavy past, expresses his understanding by playing the violin; for his part, Chaos is keen to test the king of Abyss, to see if he is worthy of being his overlord. Although Eri thinks there is nothing to gain from him, the young monarch restrains her, saying that their new friend just wants to test him in a duel. he therefore accepts the challenge thrown at him by the reaper.
The duel takes place on the training ground; each of the two opponents can use magic. After a few spells, Chaos unleashes the power of his weapon, the Great Scythe of Disorder. While Light use a High Magic Counter and send back the scythe with Gungnir, the two ultimate beings discovers each other. When Chaos summon ice, flame and thunder fairies, Light destroy them by releasing a Dimensional Warping Bomb. The white haired fighter absorb the explosive energy with the Left Arm of Disorder before shoot it with the Right Arm of Creation. Hit by the shot, Light goes on the attack again and lands a left hook at Chaos. Chaos recognizes the value of his summoner, who reveals to him that his talent with magic cards is not limited to offensive spells (the latter boosts himself without hesitation); and the duel turns into old-faSionneed karate. In the fight, each of the two opponents feels pleasure, having fun with a smile on their lips. Thus was born the friendship of 2 monstrously strong men who understand each other through their fists. Orca admits that this melody sounds so sweet to his ears that he could listen to it for eternity.
Light wins the duel, and Chaos recognizes him as his superior. Orca, having interpreted his actions, reveals that Chaos cares deeply for his friends despite appearances.
The 2 new elite soldiers of the immortal king are entrusted with the mission of playing, on the surface, the generals of the Witch of the Tower; Orca playing the role of the older brother, and Chaos, that of the younger brother. They meet Nazuna, who Eri allows to fight them with all her strength to test them. Orca declines, preferring to play his instrument; Chaos agrees to measure the power of his big sister. Like the good big sister that she is, Nazuna shows the reaper the power of Prometheus. Chaos, covered in bruises, recognizes her as a monster.
Several days later, Mei receive a letter with the date and location of the war, and read it to Light. The preparative are all completed. Mera scaffold a plan to infiltrate the beastmen, identifie the allies of the wolfmen and crush their puny schemes. A thing is certain : beastmen will pay for their crimes against humans.
Before beginning of battle, Nemumu kills the 2 wolfmen who stayed behind to watch the prisoners; then she teleports every last hostage to the Giant Tower (including Cuone). Meanwhile, Eri stay calm despite beastmen's taunting; with the help of Orca, who played <<The Quiet Shore>>, she calm the fear and sorrow of human soldiers and reveals to them the good news about their loved ones. Despite the lies of Gam, the leader of wolfmen, who think that his ennemy is bluffing, humans prefers believing the Witch of the Tower. Refusing to let their gladiators leave, the wolfmen draw their bows and fire a barrage of arrows. Ready to risk her life to save those of her comrades in misfortune, Miya repeatedly summons 3 Ice Swords and fragments them to block the arrows; but eventually she reaches her limits, and the tiger men send their best assassins to kill the prisoners directly. Fortunately, Dark arrives right on time and cuts them in their tracks with a Wall of Fire.
At first thinking she was hallucinating after exhausting her mana, Miya, reassured to find her old friend at the right time, gently falls to her knees. Dark, relieved to have arrived in time to save her, tells her that he joined the adventurers who came at the request of the Witch of the Tower. Then, the rescuers provide protection for the human soldiers, allowing Orca to teleport them to safety in the Giant Tower. There, each human soldier finds one or even several loved ones. Cuone and Miya meet again; and the prodigious young mage is revered like a heroine by her friend, who says aloud: <<If the Witch of the Tower is the goddess of humans, then Miya is the saintess who heals them!>>. Despite her shy modesty, Miya is glorified by all the survivors, and even the maids.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Eri pulls a knife from her sleeve. But this is no ordinary knife: it is a single-use Mythology-class weapon, the effect of which traps even wielders of Genesis-class weapons (such as Gungnir at full power), preventing them from leaving without the consent of its user; World is World. Eri lets go, and as soon as the point sticks into the grass, a harmless ray comes out of the hilt; it demarcates a circular area, and, by magic, the beastmen find themselves in a reality cut off from the outside world. They are surprised: the environment is colored negatively; the sky is red, the clouds dark blue; even the sun is black.
Eri announces their final judgment to them, here and now. Despite the obvious cost of their lives in retaliation for their heinous sins, the Beastmen allow themselves to be blinded by their own arrogance; Gam, believing his people above all of the human race, shatters a monster pod, releasing the Corrupted Holy Golem. Underestimating the enemy, he praises the so-called invincibility of this golem created by the demon king with the aim of destroying the heroes, the latter being made of sacred steel, and therefore having both a sacred attribute and chaos attribute. But in the eyes of the witch and the reaper, this forbidden level 5000 weapon, ultra-resistant to physical and magical attacks, is just a simple toy. Gam, believing the news that she is bluffing, advises her to surrender and return the escaped humans to him, so that he can massacre them as punishment; but Eri doesn't care about this rude character, and intends to cut his misplaced pride into pieces.
As the golem charges towards her at the command of its trainer, Eri tells Chaos that he doesn't need to lift a finger and that, in this isolated space where every action can be performed without affecting the outside world, she can cast spells that are usually hard to use; a solid gold opportunity. Thus, the Corrupted Sacred Golem is cut into slices by the Dimension Cut spell, before being atomized in a black hole created by the Gravity World spell. The beastmen are stunned to see this.
The renegade mage reminds them that being resistant to magic does not mean being immune to it, before preparing Plasma Down, an attack spell allowing an entire group to be incinerated by means of a miniature sun. On Gam's orders, the beastmen go looking for the little girls they had planned to use, from the beginning, as human shields and as a means of blackmail against the witch. But in the end, their dishonest strategy backfired: Light also knew about the two children and had them rescued; Mera had divided to take their forms and their place in the barrels in which they were locked. When the beastmen realizes it, it's to late for them all : the 2 fissions of Mera bite and chew arms of 2 beastmen. Then, Mera fuse back and retake her true form. The strategy deployed by Abyss soldiers was a test for the beastmen, to see if someone among them would help the kids to deserve absolution. As no beastman has move a finger, all the pack is recognized guilty.
Then, Light teleports into the space of World is World. The beastmen are surprised to see appearing this young man into the sky, ready to judge them for their mortal sins and to exterminate them all; like an all mighty god.
One by one, the beastmen try diplomacy, saying that they were against the hostage-taking strategy, in the hope of escaping their fate. Nothing helps: not being fooled, the living god reminds them of their crimes against the human people and tells them to accept their own choices. While the two leaders will be captured alive for interrogation, Mera takes it upon herself to massacre the other bestial warriors. Those who have the misfortune to underestimate her stupidly throw themselves at her; These morons, good at barking but bad at biting, are the first to be killed. Frightened by the situation, Gam takes out a magatama given by the Dragonaut Empire, which he thinks is a teleportation object; but at the same moment, Rebad brandished a similar magatama. Unfortunately for them, the two leaders were deceived by their supposed allies: the two magatamas are in reality twin-blooded magatamas, objects of sacrifice, transforming the sacrificed people into a monster. As a result of their recklessness, all the beastmen around them find themselves drained of blood until they are nothing more than desiccated corpses; and the two leaders get trapped by said blood, which takes the form of a scarlet slime, forming 2 giant hearts.
As Gam and Rebad pass out and fall into a trance-like state, full of regret, their soldiers drop like flies. To defeat this blood slime, Light and his companions must destroy both parts of the object at the same time, it being able to regenerate at the slightest time difference in their destruction. Eri can't do it, because Gam and Rebad are low level; if she used a strategic rank spell, she could kill them. Mera is neither the perfect candidate to take on one of the magatamas: she has difficulty holding back, and it would be risky for her to dive into the monster; she would be vampirized despite her high level.
Fortunately, Chaos is excellent at close combat; it is therefore he who will destroy this object of misfortune, supported by his lord. Light removes his mask, and the two martial arts masters fly towards the magatamas; Orca supports them by restricting the enemy's movements by playing <<Beyond the entangled chains>>.
Suddenly, against all expectations, the blood slime jumps very high and merges its two bodies, before hardening and launching an attack whose strength is equivalent to its weight. After dodging, Light and Chaos notice the unimaginable: the slime lets out Gam and Rebad's hatred and anger; the latter, partially awakened from their torpor, fulminate, wanting to kill not only their enemies and their escaped prisoners, but also the dragonewt empire and the man who deceived them. Seeing that they have lost their marbles, the two ultimate warriors decide to make them understand the weight of their sins and the depth of their despair.
The blood slime begins to attack at lightning speed; he guesses that his opponents are targeting the magatamas. As they prepare to separate him, he attempts to trap them and sip them like a tropical cocktail. Unfortunately for him, he is unaware that the two weapon masters are respectively level 9999 and level 8888. Chaos divides the monster in two with the Scythe of Disorder; then Light releases the SSSR spell, Frosty, summoning 2 ice wolves which freeze both parts. Precisely at the moment when the master spearman breaks one of the magatamas into 8 pieces, the reaper cuts the other into 2 halves.
Once the slime vanquished and annihilated, They give each other a high five and a shake. This does not fail to intrigue their friends. Their soldiers having suffered the equivalent of a mass suicide, Gam and Rebad tremble like leaves upon hearing that they were going to undergo interrogation; They try to justify themselves by saying that they were puppets of the dragonewts, and therefore victims. They even ask the Witch of the Tower to join forces to defeat them, being ready to reveal the slightest information. Pleased to hear it, Eri says that they won't need to say anything though, since she will delve directly into their minds and analyze their memories. Panicked, they flee like deer; but it is useless: the Bindings of Thorns spell brutally slows them down in their momentum.
The immortal king advises them to renounce and pay for their sins against humans. While awaiting their transfer to Abyss Castle, Mera restrains them with centipedes and worms as bonds; a disgusting nightmare for Gam and Rebad, in the grip of despair. Once the latter are transferred, Light sends Eri, Orca and Chaos to invade the beastmen federation, as well as capture the other leaders.
After the execution by tearing off the head of Igor, the leader of the birdmen, his colleagues, Ozo, the leader of the bearmen, and Beny, the leader of the oxmen, obediently surrender to the witch, conscious that they had sinned against him. They understand that if they hit her again in the back, the five tribes of the beastmen people will be victims of a terrible butchery.
Of the humans who were held captive, 7,000 decided to stay at the Tower; that is, half of the kidnapped and all of the slaves.
Dark and Miya chat over a cup of tea, the latter thanking her mentor for saving her once again. The Saintess decides to return to her village with her brother. She invites her old friend to visit them. While she hesitates to say anything else, Cuone's arrival interrupts her.
Cuone, after reassuring her parents, decides to stay at the Tower; proving her specialty, she also creates the religion of the Tower: thus, the Witch of the Tower is rightly venerated as the goddess of worship; the maids in her service are considered fairies; and Miya is recognized as the saint of the religion.
Thanks to Eri, the black slave market is razed; and Kavaa's creator has been identified: Fei, a Master from the Dragonaut Kingdom. For her part, Aoyuki hasn't found anything abnormal; but like her master and her sisters, she prefers to remain vigilant by keeping an eye on Fei, as well as the rest of the kingdom.
Lilith's training[]
Against all odds, the destruction of the Beastman Kingdom's entire army caused a stir; so much so that a conference scheduled to take place in Nine in a few years was moved up to a few days. Lilith warns Light about this via telepathic message.
The princess makes 3 requests: first, she needs a good leveling up, so she can eliminate all the spies; second, she needs magic items to prevent poisoning and assassinations; and finally, she needs Light as a bodyguard, which would be beneficial to him since he will be able to see the faces of the respective leaders of the Land of the Dragonauts and the Kingdom of Demons. Knowing that the only condition is to be rank A, Light accept and offer her some weapons, armor and magic items. Lilith's training begins, with the help of Orca and Chaos.
Sentence of the Intrusive Masters[]
But meanwhile, a Mistress named Miki infiltrates the Giant Tower under the identity of Silica's employee, a merchant's daughter. This level 6000 bee-mancer, by hypnosis via a queen pheromon bee, ask her some questions, notably about <<C>>. After the examination, Miki let Silica going to bed. She appears very lustful, easy to give in to her sexual instinct.
The next day, Lilith trains with Gold and Nemumu.
Despite sending out a Shadow Bee, Miki failed to take precautions in case she was spotted, and as a result, she ends up unmasked without even realizing it. Trapped by Light, Ice-Heat, and Nazuna, she finds it impossible to escape. The Master attempts to defend herself, but her summons are charred. As Light prepares to question her, Miki reveals that she knows a lot about the Masters and is surprised to face such powerful opponents who are not affiliated with the Dragonauts or <<C>>.
Suddenly, a monstrous commotion erupts: another Master, frantic, is killing the monsters obeying the immortal king to gain as much experience as possible, in order to be powerful enough to take revenge on the man who left a cross-shaped scar on his face. Even a full-power attack launched by Fenrir the Founder does nothing to him. Guessing that Miki knows him, Light goes to hunt the poacher alongside Nazuna, while Ice-Heat holds off the bee-mancer, the reinforcements being her comrades of the same level.
Nazuna duels the murderer to begin. The latter, despite realizing that his opponent is a level 9999 vampire, remains calm and seems delighted by such prey. Despite heavy interference, Light partially manages to identify the intruder : it's a level 7000 human swordsman named Daigo, and he's armed with Mythology-class twin blades. Nazuna doesn't even give him a scratch. Light tries the Bursting Blaze spell; however, Daigo has spotted him, knows his exact level, and he escapes in one piece. His frenzy is such that he sees these superior beings as common prey. Suddenly, he charges towards Light twice; but each time, Nazuna pushes him back to the ground with a blow of her sword. As the supreme sorcerer fires a solar beam, Mera tells him that Miki has fallen in love with Suzu and has given up fighting. She also tells him that she has identified Daigo's weapon: it is the Spirit Twin Blades; dual blades that can control elementals.
To prevent the frenzied swordsman from becoming a problem in the future, the immortal king decides to end him as quickly as possible. He unleashes the SSSR spell, True Sight, to see the spirits and share his spiritual sight with his teammates. A grateful Nazuna attacks the spirits first, before giving Daigo a hard time. The relentless poacher assimilates his weapon and uses his two-in-one gift, Weapon's Amalgamation and In Heaven Above And Below Heaven, Only I Am Exalted, to strengthen himself and weaken his enemies. Then he uses a death elemental to kill them; but he ignore that, thanks to his Unlimited Gacha, Light possess multiples SSR self-sacrifices cards, so when Daïgo gloat, he got punched like nothing has happened. Then, Light use SSSR boosts to makes his and Nazuna's stats higher than normal. Orca reinforce them more. The immortal king say : <<If your gift is doubled, then mine is unlimited>>.
As his enemy is determined to make him pay for the death and injuries of his allies, Daigo, stubborn, summons all the elemental spirits to kill him; but he doesn't count on Nazuna's clones, who bring the spirits down. The bloodthirsty swordsman takes a good beating. Light fires SSSR spells at him like it's raining, but Daigo refuses to throw down his weapons. He goes on a rampage, even if it means self-destruction. His mana is unleashed, ready to surge and pulverize the tower.
The Spear King, realizing there was no time to lose, released Gungnir's first seal; he then contacted Eri and ordered her to release the second. Though reluctant, Eri realized there was no other option. She released the second seal, and Gungnir appeared in his third form, even more powerful than the second. The aftereffect spread to the right side of Light's face, leaving his right eye scarlet.
Daigo, blinded by his pride and arrogance, proclaims that he will never be able to stop this self-destructive attack using the so-called "strongest Mythology-class weapon," without understanding that he is facing the user of the true most powerful and dangerous Genesis-class weapon, and that the latter is only using it at 50% of its power. As soon as the frenzied Master begins to explode his mana, Light casts Gungnir, which devours the blast and Daigo with it. Disintegrated to the core, Daigo vanishes in despair and fear; the shockwave leaves a gash-like crater. Light finds it pointless to proclaim such a weak weapon as the most powerful.
Suddenly, Light feels his arm burning: the necrosis has worsened. Mei and Eri immediately offer their liege lord first aid, before sealing Gungnir again. Because the master spearman prioritized protecting his torso and head, his right arm is completely contaminated. He can no longer channel mana into it; he can't even move his little finger. Repeatedly using the higher-ranked purification spell for years would be too slow a healing method; he has revenge to exact against four remaining traitors, and a truth to uncover. He needs a faster method. So, back in his underground castle, he settles into his room. Using the power of Prometheus, Nazuna severs his cursed arm; then Eri uses a painful, but effective and rapid, regeneration spell. Thus, bone by bone and muscle by muscle, the supreme sorcerer regrows his arm, like a lizard growing back its tail. Once his arm has regenerated, he thanks his two sincere friends by caressing their faces.
It seems that his appraisal of Gungnir has improved : it's maybe marked 《THE SPEAR THAT BORE MORTALS TO THE BURIAL OF THE GODS》. Eri retrieves the severed arm and uses it as a research specimen.
Soon after, it was time to interrogate Miki. She was blindfolded, and brambles bound her feet and hands like chains and a prisoner's collar. This is due to the effects of the Cursed Necklace; an SSSR item that reduces its wearer's levels, lowers their physical and magical stats, and neutralizes their gift potential. Miki is therefore stuck in the interrogation room: she cannot get up from her chair, nor escape from such a deep castle. Additionally, she is watched over by her own Oath Bee; if her captors attempted to torture her, she could die. After making a rather complicated deal, based on her passionate love for the sniper, the Mistress confesses: like her, Daigo and Hisomi are part of the multi-front elite that are the Masters. Masters are special souls incarnated by 'C'. These special humans have had past lives and remember them.
There are two types of Masters: some, including those serving the dragonauts, see 'C' as a sworn enemy; while others, especially those on the side of the demons, worship him as a god. Hisomi is one of the Masters fighting 'C'; Miki, on the other hand, is one of 'C's followers. Each side has a different vision of 'C', and a conflict eventually erupts between them. The investigation into the Giant Tower is one example: the Masters in the service of demons have come to see if 'C' has settled there, and to check what the Masters in the service of dragonauts are doing; indeed, 'C' can grant their dearest wishes. At first, Miki wanted to have a harem all to herself; but her encounter with Suzu changed everything. The Masters in the service of the dragonauts seem to have a plan to avoid 'C'; the famous P.A., which seems to be a project. Miki ends up locked in the dungeon, and all her personal belongings are removed.
After a discussion about Miki, surveillance of the tower and the city is increased; and at Eri's request, Light decides to punish her for neglecting her duties. He then prepares for the A-rank promotion exam he will take as Dark, the leader of the Black Clown Mask. To succeed, along with Gold and Nemumu, they must escort Yotsuha, the princess priestess of Oni Island; which gives the immortal king the opportunity to take revenge on the fifth traitor, Oboro.
Abilities[]
Level[]
- At the beginning of the Series: Level 15
- After Two Weeks: Level 1000
- After One Month: Level 4000
- After Three Years: Level 9999
Gift[]
- Unlimited Gacha- Is Light’s gift that he received when he was born, when it was first used it was thought to be useless as Light was only able to draw weak cards. But it was revealed that its true potential lied in the amount of mana within the atmosphere when unlimited Gacha was used, as Light in an act of desperation used it deep in the abyss. The first time he used it in the abyss, he drew: SUR Mei the seeker maid, Lv. 9999. Light was surprised that he was able to draw such a powerful card as it had never happened before, but Mei explained that the reason for that was because the mana in the surface was too little as a result he could never draw stronger cards as they require more mana. In the abyss the mana was much stronger which allowed him to use Unlimited Gacha to its true potential. During the next three years, Light used his gift repeatedly drawing hundreds of powerful cards: humans, weapons, magic, skills, armor, etc. Light also learned from Mei that the cards he drew from Unlimited Gacha had their own rank based on rarity, they are:
- EX (Extra)- Spawns the strongest items, weapons, equipment, and presumably summons. Not much is known about this rank, as Light only managed to draw one Ex card during the last three years. It is capable of spawning Genesis-Class weapons and equipment, as Light possesses the only Genesis-Class weapon shown: EX-Gungnir Shinto Burial.
- SUR (Super Ultra Rare)- Spawns extremely powerful weapons and summons. Of all Light’s companions, 5 of them are SUR cards: Mei, Eri, Aoyuki, Nazuna, and Fenrir. All of them were Lv. 9000 or higher. It is also capable of spawning Mythic-Class weapons and summons, which is the second highest rank for any weapon or equipment. Nazuna wields such a weapon, her two handed sword Prometheus.
- UR (Ultra Rare)- Spawns powerful items, weapons, skills, and summons. An example of this is the UR “World Devourer” it is a powerful sword that Light used to defeat a Lv. 5000 enemy. It is capable of spawning Phantasm-Class items, however these cards can only be wielded by those of high level.
- SSSR (Triple Super Rare)- Spawns powerful triple super rare items, weapons, skills, and summons. Light is shown using these cards more often as they are powerful, it is capable of spawning Epic-Class items as well.
- SSR (Double Super Rare)- Spawns powerful cards, ranging from items to skills to weapons. Light is shown using these cards sometimes should the situation call for it, it is also capable of spawning Epic-Class items.
- SR (Super Rare)- Spawns items that are much rarer, but like its predecessor they are rarely used. This is due to Light having stronger cards with a higher rarity. It is capable of spawning Artifact-Class items, but they are rarely seen in the series.
- R (Rare)- Spawns rare items, but Light rarely uses these cards as he has stronger cards with higher ranks. It is capable of spawning Relic-Class items or summons, but since Light and his companions have stronger items, there was no use for them.
- N (Normal)- Spawns low-level items and warriors, an example of this is the Mohawks who helped rescue former humans slaves from the elves. Their levels were in the double digits (10-20).
- E (Error)- Not much is known about this rank but based on it’s name, it most likely only spawns defective cards that have no use.
Cards[]
- SUR "Monster Founder Fenrir"- Is a powerful Lv.9000 summon on par with Light, Mei, Eri, Aoyuki, and Nazuna. He was able to kill a Lv.500 beast with a single blow.
- SSSR “Great Curse Removal”- Allows Light to remove any type of curse, no matter how strong it may be. Light even used this card to remove some burns he received from his staff “Gungnir”.
- SSR "Feast of the Dead"- When released it devours anyone or anything in the most painful way possible. This was especially shown when Light used this card on the two elves who had been killing innocent adventurers, they died while experiencing excruciating pain.
- SSR "Praying Bracelet"- Grants whoever wears it any wish they desire, this was shown when Miya who was wearing it was thinking of Dark (Light) and was teleported to him when she was in danger.
- UR “Double Shadow”- It creates a double of the person who uses this card, their doubles looks, talks, and acts like the original. The copy is so perfect that no one could tell them apart, this was shown when Yume (Light’s sister) and the princess used this card and their guards did not notice that they were fakes. Light used this card to create a double of himself to continuously use his Unlimited Gacha to draw more cards from within the Abyss.
- Magic Nullification- Nullifies any and all types of magic targeted at Light or his allies.
- Detection- When activated, it surveys Light's surrounding for him.
- Silent- Keeps the target or area completely quiet, allowing Light to talk with his companions without worrying about anyone eavesdropping on him. Eri frequently used this card whenever she was reading the mind of her targets, as she found it annoying when they were screaming from the pain.
- Heal- Heals any injury instantly no matter how severe. Light used this several times on himself and others who needed it.
- Teleportation- Teleports Light and anyone he wants from any location to the abyss or vice versa. This card can also be used to teleport a large group of people if necessary, this was shown when Mei teleported several people from the human kingdom to the abyss.
- Fire Arrow- Allows Light to unleash arrows made of fire, he can also release several of them at once.
- 99,999,999 Purification Cards- These cards can purify curses and exorcise spirits that have been corrupted. Light used 100,000,000 of these cards against the soul dragon and Sionne to purify all the souls of the humans that they were holding hostage.
Equipment[]
- Ex “Gungnir-Shinto Burial”- Is a Genesis-Class Weapon and is the only EX card that Light drew during the three years that he used Unlimited Gacha. It is shown to be extremely powerful and has unknown powers. Both Mei and Eri tried to analyze it, but could not and were frightened by its god like-powers. Light along with Mei, Eri, and Aoyuki placed four seals on it, to contain it’s monstrous power. Light is shown carrying it around like a normal staff, although it’s power is sealed it is shown to be extremely durable, as Light used it as a blunt weapon several times and it was never damaged at all. Light unleashed one of its seals when he fought against Sasha and her Fiancée Michael, its appearance changed slightly and it had a terrifying dark aura. It’s dark aura was shown to be able to destroy phantasm-class equipment as it caused Sasha’s Ocarina to disintegrate, as well as destroy beings made of souls as he used it again to kill the soul dragon. However, the only downside was that it was too strong to the point that it even hurt Light despite him being Lv.9999. When the second seal is release, Gungnir change more in appearance and become more powerful. Daigo was literally devoured by this divine javelin.
- SSR "Clown Mask"- It has a double function of not only hiding one’s identity, but it can also cast an illusion onto the wearer’s face. This was seen when Sasha saw Light wearing the mask and slapped it off him, and it showed him with a burned face that was created by the mask.
- UR “World Devourer”- Is a large great sword that has multiple mouths and gives off a sinister vibe. It can only be wielded by those who are Lv.9000 or higher, if anyone else tries to wield it they would be driven insane. It can cut through anything or anyone, even one’s soul, Light used this against Kavaa the Flesh Zombie and easily defeated him with it.
- UR “Card Holder”- Is a literal card holder, that Light uses to hold the cards that he shown frequently using in his battles. He only takes cards that he needs and places them in the card holder and takes them out whenever the situation calls for it. The card holder is shown to be capable of holding millions of cards as Light used it to hold 100,000,000 Purification cards that he used against the soul dragon.
- UR “Wristband of Immortality”- The wearer literally becomes Immortal, once they put it on they cease aging and remain young. Light wore this bracelet and retained his appearance from three years ago, his former comrades were surprised at the fact that he was still young and had not changed after three years.
