Asahi Mogami (最上 アサヒ, Mogami Asahi) is a main character in Phantom of the Idol series. She is a national idol with legendary popularity who was involved in a car accident a year ago and became a ghost because of her unfulfilled love for her idol.
Appearance[]
Asahi has shoulder-length pink hair that has bangs hanging on the left side and emerald-green eyes. Her voice is bright and positive.
Her idol costume is a white top with a bright pink bow on the front with an orange ribbon on the back, the skirt has an orange fabric with a pink tutu on top of the orange skirt. Her shoes are pink high heels with straps. The gloves on her hands are bright pink with orange ribbons on the wrist of said gloves.
Personality[]
Asahi’s a typical female anime protagonist. Asahi is always positive and bright. She's a cheerful, gung-ho girl, she's full of vim and vigor willing to do her best as an idol-even though she’s a ghost. Asahi is an energetic former idol who is now haunting Yuya Niyodo as a ghost, and is very friendly towards him.
When it comes to idols and anything related, as she is very enthusiastic about them. Asahi wants to be an idol but she also wants Niyodo to do his best as an idol, she wants to see what the idol Niyodo Yuya can be, in episode 2, she refuses to go inside Niyodo’s body so, Niyodo had to sing as himself-Asahi stated that “Today’s performance was very Niyodo-like. I want you to dance all on your own” and almost ascended but Niyodo stopped her saying “You went into my body just to sing and dance again, No?” So, Asahi and Niyodo would aim to be the be best idol ever.
When she first met Niyodo, she asked if he could see her- Niyodo thought she was bullied by other people thinking she was invisible- Niyodo saw Asahi. It was quite awkward for Asahi to explain that she was a ghost.
When Asahi learned that Niyodo didn’t like being an idol, she went inside Niyodo’s body-which confused Niyodo.
While Asahi does identify as female, she also identifies with being the male idol Niyodo Yuya due to Sharing a Body, and acts as a man whenever she has control of the body. This discrepancy in gender and gender presentation doesn’t bother her, as she only wants to be an idol regardless of gender. The female idol Asahi inhabits Niyodo's male body via possession, the gender difference doesn't seem to bother her, in fact she's ecstatic to use his larger form to perform as she sees it as a challenge. Asahi is implied to either have been a chuunibyou or interested in the subculture, her ideas of "what's cool" direct right back to the chuunibyou subculture, with things like: special powers, eyepatches, and flowery catchphrases. When crafting a new persona for both herself and Niyodo she made them into both a combination of a chuunibyou and Visual Kei caricature.
She really wanted to perform but no one could see her .When she heard Niyodo did not want to be an idol she asked to take his place in rage. Successfully she ended up in Niyodo’s body, making Niyodo do choreography-which annoyed him-because she wanted to dance again. that gave Niyodo the idea of having Asahi go onstage in Niyodo’s body . After the first performance, she said after such a long time she was glad to go on stage-although it was in Niyodo’s body- seeing the fans made Asahi feel so alive.
Asahi loves to eat cream parfaits and once made Niyodo buy one even though it was expensive. She just can’t say no to sweet things.
On Sora's Team[]
Asahi joins Sora's team with Niyodo and Kazuki but unfortunately at the first moment make all heroes very surprise about Niyodo can see Asahi Mogami as ghost then Chiaki Morisawa, Tamaki Yotsuba faint then finally it was explained well, making Tamaki and Chiaki calm down, but regarding Asahi Mogami, she actually died in an accident from Nagi Rokuya that found about Asahi as accident victim, making several heroes understand, but Asahi Mogami was surprised about several heroes, one of which was Riku Nanase, Akira Kiyose, and several heroes as idols, making Nagi Rokuya say that he, and his friend became guest performers singing for Niyodo and Kazuki Hoshino make Asahi Mogami happy but when Niyodo idealized him as an idol about difficult training, entering without money made few heroes but few heroes surprised about Asahi then seeing Asahi take Niyodo's body became shocked even Chiaki and heroes shocked then Mitsuki saw Asahi take Niyodo's body but instead turned into another Nagi Rokuya make Mitsuki Izumi disgusting with Asahi that control Niyodo.
but unfortunately Kazuki Yoshino who smelled Goblin Taffy as sweet food which Shinbi accidentally made Kazuki see Asahi Mogami as a ghost made Kazuki faint but regained consciousness then Hari told him why he could see then Kazuki answered that Kazuki ate white candy with caramel sauce which made Hari-Koo, and all heroes were surprised that it was Goblin Taffy, making Kazuki ask what is it Goblin Taffy make Shinbi explain that candy that could make you see ghosts, and invisible creatures made Kazuki surprised that Kazuki can see ghost and Yokai but Shinbi got angry by heroes because it made Kazuki Yoshino as idol will becomes involved to mission so Shinbi apologizes for his carelessness to Kazuki but Kazuki has no problem with that if he has to help for the sake of Niyodo and the other heroes. Moreover, Kazuki will keep it a secret because only the hero, he and Kazuki know that Asahi Mogami makes the hero happy.
