Alistair Alphonso Smythe, better known as Ultimate Spider Slayer (or The Ultimate Spider Slayer), is a major antagonist in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He is the son of Spencer Smythe. He is also Kingpin's former assistant.

He is voiced by Maxwell Caulfield.

Biography[]

In the episode Guilty, he hatched the plan to frame Peter Parker to get the police out of Kingpin’s tail for selling illegal feds, by using his son Richard Fisk to set up Peter to take the blame.

In the episode The Man Without Fear, he was happy that his plan of framing Peter Parker was a success and the evidence of him was gone to clear his name however Richard Fisk comes in and tells Smythe he’s wrong because Peter Parker was able to escape and he said that Spider-Man was able to obtain the information to clear Peter Parker’s name and incriminate Kingpin. Kingpin gets worried that he would get sent to prison and angrily blames Smythe telling him that it was his fault and his plan of framing Peter Parker was a bad idea in the first place. However, Smythe tells him that it was the best way to get them off of their enemies trail and later Kingpin tells Smythe about his father and his story of how he became a crime lord and when he tells him what he did to his father, Smythe tells Kingpin that he knew he was ruthless and he replied that sacrifices must be made. Later Richard Fisk and Susan Choi and Chameleon were arrested and defeated by Spider-Man and Daredevil and were in court and were found guilty and put in the Crime Central. Kingpin berates Smythe and tells him that his days of working with him were numbered and orders Smythe to leave him alone which he does.

In the episode The Ultimate Slayer, Smythe fears that Kingpin is going to betray him for putting his son in jail and he was forced to save himself by contacting peter parker when he was telling Peter to contact Spider-Man. Unbeknownst to Smythe, kingpin entered the room while he was coming from the elevator and Peter tells Smythe that why would he betray his boss and Smythe replies that why because he thinks that he is going to betray him and tells Peter to call Spider-Man to meet up the roof top and he’ll give Spider-Man some evidence which would incriminate Kingpin but when he hangs up Smythe was getting ready for his visit with Spider-Man with the incriminating evidence but unfortunately he gets caught by Kingpin who Heard his conversation with Peter and kingpin attacks Smythe by spinning him around and later.

When Spider-Man goes to the rooftop he sees Smythe’s chair empty and Smythe appears mutated and attacks and almost kills Spider-Man but when Spider-Man was about to die Madam webs teleports him away and Kingpin orders Herbert Landon to get the footage back on and when it’s back on they think Spider-Man was able to escape and Kingpin Sates that the new Smythe is Disappointing as the old and Landon tells him that Smythe isn’t fully adjusted and needs more treatments and Kingpin threatens Landon for his Sake of Fixing Smythe when Smythe come back Landon asks Smythe to get In the chamber but he refuses and Kingpin orders him to do as he is told and Smythe gets angry and grabs Kingpin by the shirt but is unable to hurt him and gets in the chamber and when Kingpin and Landon left Smythe begins to remember what happened to him in a flashback as he was being berated by Kingpin about his failures concerning Spider Slayer Robots failure in destroying Spider-Man and how his plan of Framing Peter Parker caused his son and henchmen to get arrested and because of his plan Spider-Man now knows the Kingpin’s identity. Then, Kingpin walks towards Smythe and tells him that it is time for him to cut his loose ends and make a change and Smythe screams in horror and is tied up by Herbert Landon and he tells Smythe that he will be replacing him as the Kingpin’s new partner and puts Smythe in the mutated boil while Kingpin watches with a sadistic look and when Smythe's done being mutated, Kingpin asks Landon if he has any humanity left in him and Landon tells him that he doesn’t and he is now a robot obedient to his will and Kingpin tells Landon that Smythe's father loved robots and now his son become one, but unbeknownst to Landon and Kingpin Smythe does have.
