Aijima Cecil

Cecil Aijima (愛島 セシル, Aijima Seshiru) is a character in the Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ series and a member of the idol group ST☆RISH.

Appearance

He has dark brown hair, tan skin, and green eyes. He also goes to Saotome Academy. He was a black cat with green eyes when he was cursed. He also has a purple tattoo on his upper right chest.

Cecil also wears a blue necklace at all times; it contains muses who assist him in writing beautiful poetry. This necklace was used to connect people with the gods.

Personality

Cecil was cheeky during the first parts of the Master Course and wanted nothing to do with becoming an idol, often stating that he only cared about being with Haruka Nanami. Once he realized he wanted to become an idol due to members of ST☆RISH inspiring him, he changed his mind and asked to join ST☆RISH.

Cecil often gives advice to the other members of ST☆RISH. He is very insightful and sensitive to the feelings of others, likely because of the spiritual and cultural influences of his country. Despite mystical first impressions, Cecil actually carries himself with a child-like spirit and curiosity.

At times he is unintentionally rude or too forward because of his inability to sense what is appropriate in the culture that he is in. He is enthusiastic about nearly everything in Japan. Perhaps because of his royal upbringing, he is used to getting what he wants and is often confused when he can't instantly have it. This is shown at one point in Amazing Aria, where he requests to purchase a shopping mall. Later in the series, he learns and matures, often demonstrating modesty and respect.

History

The prince of Agnapolis who was cursed and turned into a black cat. In the anime, he was Kuppuru, the cat that Haruka Nanami took care of. He told Haruka that his country is to the far west. His poetry is made by muses that connect people with the gods.

April

Haruka helped a cat to get down from a tree on her way to school. She later found that same cat in the school garden. It was raining and she took it back to her room. Her partner and roommate, Tomochika, agreed to keep the cat as long as they keep it hidden from the teachers. They named the cat Kuppuru / クップル. However, Tomochika had to leave the school due to her family conditions. So now Haruka is alone without a roommate nor a partner.

One day when she was playing with Kuppuru in the garden, suddenly the cat ran off to the principal’s office. Shining Saotome was trying to summon Muse, the goddess of music, but he made a mistake and summoned Satan instead. Satan took Haruka as a hostage and demanded to trade her for Shining Saotome’s body. To keep her safe, Shining Saotome had to accept.. and now he’s possessed by Satan. He sealed music for the sake of world domination and noticed that Haruka has Muse’s power in her. Just before he attacked her, Kuppuru came to rescue her. It kissed Haruka and turned into a human.

He took Haruka to escape since Satan couldn’t get out from the principal’s room for now. He introduced himself as Aijima Cecil, the prince of Agna Palace — a country blessed by Muse, infamous for making musical instruments. His relatives didn’t approve him because he’s half Japanese, and so they threw him away to Japan after cursing him into a cat. He needs true love and the melody of love to lift his curse.

Apparently Satan managed to curse Haruka as well. Now everytime the day changes, she’d leap through time and wake up one month later. They need Agna’s song to seal Satan, but the musical scores were scattered all over the school. Cecil needs Haruka’s skill to help him in sealing Satan and asked for her help. She accepted and they kissed to seal the contract.

May

Haruka woke up and found it’s already May. Music was really erased from the world, as music instruments lost their sound and singers lost their voice. Now that they’re bound by a contract, Haruka can understand Cecil even when he’s in his cat form. They found a mysterious letter that said the six guys are being controlled by Satan, so they decided to take a look. At school, they saw Otoya in the rooftop. He called out to them and spoke like Shining Saotome.

After getting through the Satan-controlled-zombie-students in the school building, they found Otoya on the roof. He told them about his family and his reason to be an idol, and asked Haruka to give him her everything — including her skills and future. Haruka thought he won’t be happy even if she did that and said she wants to hear his own song. This broke Satan’s curse and Otoya’s consciousness returned. Cecil and Haruka released Otoya from the curse, and they got the guitar score for Otoya to play.

They met Ryuuya after that, who seems to be the only sane person in the school except them. He told them that he found a place they can use for their hideout, which is a recording room under the dorms.

June

This month Haruka received a love letter from Tokiya in front of her room. She went to see him despite Cecil saying that it’s a trap. She was really surprised when she found HAYATO waiting for her in the promised place. He tried to kiss her but luckily Cecil came to stop him, since apparently their contract will be erased if Haruka kissed other guys. HAYATO suggested they have a tokimeki match, since Satan knows Haruka can’t resist her beloved idol.

Both HAYATO and Cecil whispered sweet words to Haruka, and she got all dreamy thanks to HAYATO’s words. Cecil then told her to sing, which broke Satan’s curse on Tokiya. They released Tokiya from the curse and received the second score, also telling him about their secret hideout. Back at the dorms, Cecil said he gets sad if Haruka kisses other guys. He also apologized for kissing her by force to transform into human.

July

Cecil was missing when Haruka woke up, so she went to school looking for him. She found him there, along with a poltergeist Masato. He lured them by playing the piano and tied them up with chains. Then he started ripping Haruka’s clothes and unbuttoning her shirt, ultimately thinking of doing the ultimate secret technique of skirt-flipping.

Cecil couldn’t stand seeing Haruka get harassed and broke free from his chains. He was wounded, but used all of his power to break Haruka’s chains. The worried Haruka hugged him when she was free, and Cecil kissed her forehead in return. This made Masato embarrassed enough to return to his own body, and they used this chance to release him from Satan’s curse. They got the third score as well.

Masato panicked upon hearing what he did to Haruka, thinking of committing seppuku to pay for his sins. Haruka asked for his help instead and told Masato about their hideout.

August

Cecil told Haruka that his uncle and cousins are greedy bastards who won’t be able to use Muse’s power the right way. His father fell sick and Cecil was thrown out of the country, so now they’re ruling Agna Palace. He knows that the country will be destroyed in their hands.

They met a female zombie-student at school, wearing a rose on her chest. Cecil noticed that the rose was the source of the brainwash. After resting for a while, they went to the pool and were greeted by Ren and his harem — a bunch of girls with roses just like the one they met before. Ren tied Haruka to a dart board and challenged Cecil to play 501 with him using poisonous roses instead of normal darts. If he lost, Ren will present his soul to Satan and Haruka will join his harem.

Cecil almost gave up because the last point he needs was so dangerously close to Haruka. But she asked him to throw it, since she believed in him. Cecil then won the game and they noticed that Ren wasn’t brainwashed by Satan. He did it just because he’s interested in them. They received the sax score, and Ren joined their group.

Back in her room, Cecil told Haruka that he must go back to his country after they gathered all the scores. He has to make a contract with Muse to seal Satan forever. Only a king can do it, and he can’t touch any female or else the contract will break. By this time Haruka was already in love with Cecil, but she couldn’t say it.

September

This month they met Natsuki at school. Muse keeps appearing in his dreams, telling him to give his heart’s score to Haruka. But before they could do that, Satsuki suddenly appeared in a separate body and took Natsuki away. He challenged them to a hide-and-seek to find Natsuki, but they’ll get a penalty if they caught Satsuki by mistake. He kept tricking them, hiding the aura of Satan inside of him and pretending to be Natsuki. Everytime he caught them, he sent them to a forest far away from the school. Cecil and Haruka used their power to teleport back, but it drained their energy.

Eventually Satsuki came to the forest after sending them there, ready to trick them again. But suddenly the real Natsuki appeared to stop him. He asked Satsuki to fight together since he knew Satsuki was only trying to protect him. Satsuki was convinced and merged with Natsuki again. Cecil and Haruka released him from Satan’s curse and got the viola score.

October

It’s Syo’s turn. Cecil and Haruka met him on the ground, running away from Kaoru while holding a box. Apparently Satan cursed him and his mental age went back to five, while his 10-years memories were sealed inside the box. Kaoru told them that it’s a special safety box that will explode if they open it the wrong way, but luckily Cecil knows how to open it. Syo tried to fight Kaoru while Haruka and Cecil were trying to open the box.

However, Satan isn’t stupid. Even after they managed to open it, he placed a curse on Syo that will make him get a heart attack when magic is used on him. They can’t release Syo from his curse, but luckily Ryuuya soon came to the rescue. He already did some research and knows how to transfer curses, so he took Syo’s curse and moved it to himself. Syo was free and they got the violin score, but Ryuuya passed out. He’s still alive though, just unconscious after saving his students.

November

Haruka woke up to find Cecil hugging her, saying he wants to always stay with her in his sleep. He panicked and apologized when he woke up, saying that it’s because he’s used to being like that whenever he’s in his cat form. Even though they managed to gather all the scores, they couldn’t find the song necessary to seal Satan. So Haruka decided to make it herself with Cecil and everyone’s help.

One day after Cecil turned back into Kuppuru, a brainwashed Ringo suddenly came and took Haruka to the principal’s office. Cecil soon came, using all of his remaining power to turn into a human. They sang the Agna’s song that they made, which stopped Satan for a while. It was enough for them to escape, but Cecil collapsed when they went back to the dorms. He used his power too much to turn into a human.

December

Haruka met Ringo in the garden. He said their song was so wonderful that he was released from Satan’s brainwash, which made Haruka believed in him. However, it’s only a trick to get close to her. Ringo kissed Haruka on the lips, erasing the contract she made with Cecil. She couldn’t understand what Kuppuru said anymore ever since.

She eventually finished writing the song with everyone’s help. She was talking with Kuppuru in her room when suddenly the love song in her heart turned into a blinding light, and Cecil’s curse was lifted. They also got the last score that turns out to be hidden in Cecil’s heart all along. Now that his curse is gone, Cecil confessed to Haruka and she said she loves him too. They had their first real kiss after that, a kiss not for their contract.

January

Cecil and Haruka faced the final battle against Satan. Their friends played their song through the speaker in the principal office’s room, and Cecil sang while Haruka tried to protect him from Satan’s attacks. Using Otoya’s rosario and Masato’s juzu beads, that is. Satan was defeated and Shining Saotome returned to normal. When Cecil introduced himself, Shining Saotome suddenly asked for his mother’s name: Aijima Kotomi. Σ（＠д＠；）

He was impressed with their song and wanted Cecil to join the school and aim for a debut after winning the graduation audition. Cecil initially refused since he had to go home, but Ryuuya and Ringo came informing that thanks to Satan, Agna Palace was in a grave situation. They closed off the airport and wouldn’t let anyone come into the country. Since he couldn’t return, Cecil agreed to be Haruka’s partner for the audition.

February

Ringo invited the two of them to watch Song Station from the studio. That way Cecil will have more knowledge regarding idols. He was so happy that he jumped and sang on stage during the live show, and he was so great that the director let him sing. This caused the people in Agna Palace to find out about him, and his uncle wanted to bring him back. He told Haruka that tomorrow some messengers from his country will come to pick him up.

Haruka cried and asked him to put an end for her first, since they won’t be able to meet again after he left. Cecil agreed to stay with her until they finish writing the song and kissed her.

March

Cecil and Haruka spent the rest of their remaining time together hiding in the underground recording room. They eventually managed to finish their song, and the graduation audition came inevitably. Both knew that this would be the last time they can stay together, and Cecil is leaving “song” for her in his place. They all have their dreams, but their paths are different.

They were chased by the messengers on the way to school, but Ringo came to help them. They reached the auditorium safely and Cecil hugged Haruka in the backstage. He kissed her for the last time and said their hearts will always be connected no matter how far they’re apart.

True Love Ending

They won the audition and were accepted into Shining Agency. Cecil came to talk to Haruka backstage, and suddenly Muse came down and took over her body. It was then when the messengers from Agna Palace found them, so she was taken along with Cecil to his country as the priestess of Muse. She was seen as a goddess there.

Both of them are still working for Shining Agency, since Shining Saotome wants to sell Cecil’s CDs in Japan. Cecil took Haruka to rest for a while after she finished writing a song, where they get all raburabu. They were interrupted when it was time for her to get worshipped, so Cecil said they will continue tonight. He will always stay by her side.

Love Ending

Cecil went back to Agna Palace after winning the audition, but he promised Haruka that he’ll come back someday — after completely sealing Satan and stabilizing his country. He gave her a necklace before he left, which is a treasure kept by the royal family.

A few years passed and Haruka is now working for Shining Agency. She’s busy, but from time to time she’d kiss the necklace Cecil gave her to ease her loneliness. One day she received a letter from Cecil, and he suddenly appeared to hug her when she was about to read it. He already fulfilled his duty as the king, and now he came back for his dream: to sing her songs. He was jealous of the necklace, but Haruka can kiss the real thing from now on.

Friend Ending

Muse came down to Haruka’s body during the final battle. This caused Shining Saotome to break free from Satan’s possession before Muse had the chance to do anything. He completely destroyed Satan after that, so they don’t need to seal him anymore. Impressed with their song, Shining Saotome employed Haruka and Cecil in his agency.Cecil and Haruka are now living in Shining Agency’s dorms. He has the key to her room and thus spent most of his time with her. Shining suddenly came to interrupt their raburabu time though, dragging Cecil to practice and called him the “best tsundere” when he refused. He grabbed Cecil, who also grabbed Haruka, and jumped down from the 7th floor. Haruka thought that these kinds of days will continue for a while.

Season 1

Cecil appeared to Nanami as a black cat, which Nanami named Kuppuru. In the first episode he stole a handkerchief from her room and leapt out the window, seemingly inadvertently leading her to her first encounter with Ichinose Tokiya. When Nanami went on the Saotome Acadamy summer vacation trip, Cecil appeared to Nanami as Kuppuru and made her chase after him. Cecil led her into a forest and into some ruins. He then appeared to her in his human form, saying that he had been waiting for Nanami. He explained that he is the prince of Agnapolis and that he and Nanami have met before in a past further away then the light of a star. Fireflies then begin to gather around them, and Cecil starts to sing. He gave her a small flower, remarking on how the blooms stem from one root.

Season 2

Episode One

Cecil appeared in his human form to Nanami in a dream, telling her that she'd saved him. He leaned in to kiss her, at which point she woke up. The next day, Nanami heard Cecil singing and followed his voice only to find that he was actually there at Saotome Academy. When she tripped while running to him, he caught her; then he kissed her hand, earning the ire of the members of STARISH. Later, he was more formally introduced to the others, but revealed his awareness of them already with observations and predictions for each of them. Natsuki was the most welcoming of the group, while Syo liked Cecil the least and didn't want him around. However, Cecil stated he had no plan to become an idol and was only at the school at Saotome's invitation.

Episode Two

Camus introduces himself to Cecil as his senior, but Cecil said he has no need for a senior, for he can sing better than even the members of STARISH. Cecil, as well as the members of STARISH, were taken outside by Camus to have a competition and test their skills. They had to use the president's giant training cards and had to find the right character out of all the cards laid out on the field. Cecil, stealing the first card before Syo could get to it, stated that his hiragana was perfect. As the competition continued, Cecil was winning single-handedly until it was pointed out that Cecil had all the wrong cards. Cecil was disappointed, saying he was confident in his japanese. He then stood back up, saying that he would get the right cards this time. Cecil spotted the next card hanging from a tree and began to climb. He was about to grab it when Syo jumped onto a tree branch and knocked Cecil off balance. Cecil started panicking when he saw water underneath him, and he desperately tried to recover his balance. Failing, he fell into the pool of water and splashed around, thinking he was going to drown. When he stood up though, the water was just under his knee's length. Hurt that no one tried to save, him he crawled out of the water but panicked once again after seeing a fish flopping around next to him. Cecil ran away, yelling that he's 'had enough' of what's been going on. Ai commented that Cecil was originally from a desert, so he is not fond of fish or water. Later on, they wonder where Cecil go and Haruka find out Cecil taking a nap and give compliment on idol fundamental and Camus supposed to be his count. As a result, Camus angrily take Cecil on his room and going to give him some of his though. On losing to Camus game, Cecil meet Haruka and been told that love is forbidden for idol, he also admit sadly on showing his bad side to Haruka. Even though, Haruka ask him for his interest become idol Cecil response on singing is same as breathing, he also reveals a wish to sing Haruka's song. "That is all".

Episode Three

Cecil come and meet with the member of starish, he also learn idol do a lot of work like Ichinose who's job on commercial and drama, Ren do a modeling and ext. Later on, Syo start to highlight idol job of idol from movies to theater and talk on showing talent. Saotome appeared then encourage them to work harder inside their job for utapri award. Cecil can be seen taking a lot of thoughts, on everyone expression and remain silent which make Haruka worried a bit on him. Cecil learn from Camus the important of idol not in skill but how they shine, though show off his glowing staff. Cecil looks more troubled when Camus said he didn't have to care on uta pri award, also ask on the assignment that has been given which make Cecil response as 'no'. Tomorrow Cecil come with Shinomiya to see how's Syo shooting. Cecil amazed at the place for filming, this expression suprised Syo. Shinomiya explained on why Cecil come together with him, which make Syo hate for Cecil more and question his rejection becoming idol. Cecil tease Syo for a prince will never go back on his word, and as result Syo more angered on him. The director calling for extra people and Cecil and Shinomiya left and tease him again and say "Do your best". After finish shooting, Syo still not satisfied with the result and ask them to leave because both of them distract his concentration. Cecil then ask Shinomiya to go since nothing they can do to convince Syo, for now. Tomorrow, he (Cecil) with Shinomiya watching Syo able to perform better than yesterday, and put appreciation expression on everyone congratulating Syo work.

Episode Four

On early Morning Cecil complaint on how early Camus wake up which make him angry and ask Cecil to wake up more early on morning and watch tv more in order to learn about idol charm others. This condition make Cecil, feel threaten a bit and when Camus also add for everyday report make his expression of speechless. Camus then leave and Cecil start to spot Haruka and decide to come in her room. Later on, he state that Camus always getting mad at him which make Haruka question Cecil condition. On giving response, Cecil collapse and feel relaxed on her bed. Cecil then take Haruka hand and tell on how he want to spend time with her, and about to kiss her but stopped when seeing on the flower that Haruka kept as a gift (season one episode eight). Haruka Reveal that flower has important role on make starish first debut, which make Cecil sadly response on how Haruka love starish. Cecil jealously questioning on what so great about them, and Haruka state how she see them sparkle a lot and make her want to watch starish forever. Cecil still didn't get it though he ask what that suppose to mean and remember Camus word on "idol must charm people", realizing this he then sadly saying that Haruka is their prisoner which make Haruka just surprised and froze. Later on, when Cecil passed by and seeing starish on Supporting Masato acting. Ittoki surprised and ask Cecil to be a spectator for Ichinose and Masato acting skill. Even though not giving proper response Ittoki and Shinomiya still ask him to sit beside Syo. Still question what is it about Syo ask him to quiet, no choice he then just watch. Cecil and other Starish member (except Masato and Ichinose) watch and amazed completely but, learn that Masato can't embrace Ichinose at all. Even though, their acting is perfect Cecil then ask why Ichinose take the girl role which make Ichinose angrily answer for no woman in the dorm, without thinking he (Cecil) state they can ask Haruka instead and surprised almost all starish member. Masato then response for don't want to troubled Haruka anymore, which make Cecil meet him later at night time and question his audition. Later on, he ask for the reason Masato becoming idol to satisfy his curiosity. Masato then tell his past on how he love performing arts but keep it hidden until he meet someone (Haruka) singing and encourage the children on street (season 1 episode 3). Cecil then said how Masato must be in love with that woman and start to encourage him to put his passion into his audition and this will lead to success "which surprise Masato". Cecil then continue on saying imagine the actor as the person he love in order to embrace her easily.Surprised with this Masato quickly say 'no' which make Cecil ask for reason, then stating acting isn't real. Cecil had no idea that his conversation able to make Masato had more insight for acting then give him a thank you, before leaving Cecil question him but got no response. On the other day, Cecil listen and found out the woman is Haruka which make Masato shock, not finish there Cecil  then question for not telling his love her which make Masato face blush and become as red as exploding volcano. Cecil still ask on why not confess his love, when Masato said no need to response this make Cecil start to point out on Idol Ban for experience a romantic relationship (Love). However Masato state he want to keep his feeling hidden because it's important which make Cecil asking him again for not telling Haruka for she is next to him. Cecil then Learn that Masato connected with Haruka through "Bond of music" by singing her song, and that is more than enough and as a result this make Cecil speechless and only remember on Haruka word " They Sparkle" - Connected to Haruka.. through bond of music...

Episode Five

At first Cecil seen together with Ittoki and Camus at XYZ TV. At there, Ittoki question why both of them will perform together, however Camus only state that he only following order from Saotome. Although he also said can't understand why putting amateur like Cecil on this variety show. This word make Cecil become silent, seeing this Ittoki cheer up Cecil by saying "Let's make it a blast". Still don't give any response Ittoki put it on simpler way 'just have fun'. Cecil wearing a green cat costume and has a child expression, their first task is doing impression. This make Ittoki worried and try to defend Cecil, though Cecil blankly said impression thanks to Ittoki idea of saying anything he like, later on, Cecil smile and response to Ittoki worried reaction. Ittoki surprised on how quick Cecil reaction then, Cecil start to act like Saotome which make him feel more tense but gladly bring a lot laugh on viewers (Completely Modeling Saotome reaction when viewers guess correctly and words that Saotome will use when see starish). At the end of variety show, Cecil seems to put more though and surprise on what he capable of. After that, they went out and Ittoki give him compliment on he never imagine or experienced this kind of fun in recording, though Camus take that as a credit for guiding Cecil abilities. Cecil then leave Ittoki since the director called him but before that, he take step back to Ittoki and said (good work today- Ittoki) also humming on his own. Back on master course mansion, WIth the rest member of starish except Ittoki and Ichinose Cecil sit silently and listening on Haruka and starish words on Ittoki situations. Cecil suddenly appeared and happy that the ghost he set must scared both of them, later on, he also said hope tommorow come soon for 'customer' and 'fun'. Tommorow though no one come due to flea market, but thanks to Ittoki song customer start to come and prasing Ittoki talent 'Cecil only smile'.

Episode Six

Cecil join breakfast with starish also hearing Ren will participating in 'japan boys collection', after that, Cecil watch and amazed how's his work with Ittoki when become Saotome as impression. Wonder how he can feel that way Cecil walk outside and seeing Ren and have a chat with him. Ren give compliment on his show quite funny which make Cecil blush then pressure him asking on not interested become idol, silent for a while Cecil question the reason for Ren become idol. Ren response that his family recomended him which suprised Cecil (my brother told me to do it). On the other hand, Ren also tell Cecil it doesn't matter how idol begin what it's matter, as long as you're serious about it now (smile at cecil which make him suprise in speechless way). Cecil compliment on Ren hard work which suprise Haruka and Tomochika, while other girls seeing him super 'hot'. However, before Haruka able to introduce Tomochika, suprisingly he already know and stated Tomochika as Haruka former roommate's which make Tomochika fiercely warn him not doing anything weird on Haruka. But Cecil just smile and open his music box showing the disc he hear 'for Jinguji Ren- from Haruka', this make Tomochika wonder then Haruka mention he give them all the disc of everyone song, though not finish yet for Cecil song. Cecil then response that no worries because he will wait and listen to six disc while Haruka composing for him- smile! (Tomochika suprised- that's enough for six people). Cecil then watch together with Haruka  and amazed on 'japan boys collection', however, during Ren turn the light went out. Haruka quickly ask the disc with Ren name on it and run somewhere else (I will light your heart with my song). While still in the mist of confuse with crowd, He (Cecil) start to hear Ren song which make the room filled with everyone happiness inside their hearts and take form of lighted candle (Amazing).

Cecil joins Sora's team as Ittoki's ally in Sora's team.
