Agatha Cycles

Agatha is the secondary antagonist of the horror game Dark Deception. Serving as the main antagonist of the second level, Elementary Evil and a minor antagonist in the eighth level, Bearly Buried.

Info[]

Appearance[]

Agatha has little resemblance to a human child, as she has demented features such as black eyes that are actually not hollow if one were to notice the eye shines in some of her renders, and a large smile filled with rotten teeth coupled with black scar-like marks on her cheeks, reaching up to her ears. She also has long, messy shoulder-length black hair with uneven curtain-style bangs. Agatha also has no eyebrows.

Agatha’s key features are her arms with five unnaturally long, frail fingers, each with almost just as long black claw-like fingernails. The arms themselves look as they are burned or rotten, and are so long that when Agatha has them hanging at her sides, she has to bend her fingers. Despite the sheer length of her fingers, she can clench her large hands into fists, as shown when she calls Doug a "mean, bad person".

She wears a black overall dress that's tattered down to her knees, the straps being fastened with black buttons. Underneath the dress is a white blouse with black embroidery. She is totally barefoot, with the exception of her right leg, which appears to be wrapped in a beige bandage-like sock. Her toes are exposed, though, implying it could be a cast.

Like many other characters in the game, her mouth moves like a puppet, yet she has no audible speech impairments. Despite having a permanent toothy grin, she is able to fully close her mouth to not show her teeth.

Once she goes into her Nightmare mode, her eyes will glow bright red (or pinkish red, depending on the lighting), her skin will turn ghoulish gray, and the white of her blouse will turn red. Upon closer inspection, her arms also appear to have a bit of a blood red color between the gray and the burnt black, implying the transformation hurt her especially there.

Personality[]

In a first encounter, Agatha presented herself as a typical child of her age, a playful, friendly, and childish individual. When first meeting Doug, as he stumbled upon her realm, Agatha greets him and welcomes him as a new student of her school, claiming that his presence in this school will excite the residence of the school, telling that her previous 'friends' started to get boring.

Once having to confront this demonic entity, Agatha reveals herself similar to other monsters, blood-thirsty and malevolent with a love for violence. Agatha's playfulness extends to a sinister sadism, in which she takes pleasure in torturing her victims, viewing them as nothing more than toys for her amusement, as throughout her level, you can see silhouettes of kids her age group, screaming and pounding the windows.

The same can be demonstrated when Malak released the monsters from their respective realm, including Agatha. As Agatha got ahold of Bierce, she pierced her through the chest with her long fingers and later playfully asked Malak, whom she sees as her father figure, if she can tear Bierce apart and stab her face. Agatha also has a habit of taunting those who she confronts, as when she successfully weakens Bierce, she berates the latter and telling her to immediately die. She even may have canniballistic intentions with her victims, evidenced by one of her jumpscares consisting of her biting down on the player's face.

Just like children her range of age, Agatha throws a furious temper tantrum when things do not go her way, as seen when Doug successfully retrieves all of the soul shards and claim the second ring piece, but this tantrum grows into a violent rage, as she no longer hesitates to hold back and embraces her psychotic instincts and chase down the players with the assistance of Malak. The reason was never made evident, but Agatha bears a strong hatred towards Bierce, with the latter bearing the same feelings to the child. It may be because Agatha was the maid's daughter Bierce sacrificed to Malak, however.

Story in Dark Deception[]

Chapter 2[]

Elementary Evil[]

Agatha first appears in the "Elementary Evil" level, as the primary enemy of the school map.

Unlike the other enemies, Agatha is on her own when pursuing Doug. In compensation for this, she will constantly head to Doug's location, albeit at a slow pace, presumably to follow the rules of her game. She will begin running once she spots Doug, only slowing down if she loses sight of him for too long. She will also use her teleport ability to get around the school, preferably to get past closed doors.

Intro[]

Before the level starts, Agatha will teleport onto a stage in front of a wall drawing of her. She welcomes Doug to the school, and refers to them as the "new friend" and playmate. She will teleport away later on, right as the school bell rings.

Act I[]

Agatha will start searching for Doug once he starts looking for Soul Shards, declaring her search beforehand. She will wander around the school, listening and constantly seeking out Doug. Due to her fast, yet surprisingly quiet, movement speed, it's recommended to use Speed Boost to evade her sight quickly.

In addition, Agatha tends to run around corners in the middle of the path, meaning Doug can increase the distance between him and her by cutting corners, literally. He can also use doors around the school to stall her during a chase, although he has to be mindful around other nearby doors in case Agatha tries to cut him off.

In Easy Mode, Agatha's is much slower than Doug and far easier to outrun.

Once Doug collects the last shard in Zone 1, Agatha will disappear into the next zone.

Act II[]

Right as Doug enters Zone 2, Agatha will teleport on the path, disappointed that Doug took all her "friends" before declaring that she'll take things up a notch the next round. She promptly teleports away afterwards, but she does give Doug a headstart a moment later by asking him his thoughts on Zone 2.

Agatha will begin Doug once more, only this time she will start using her teleport against him. Besides showing a lot more activity whenever Doug opens the doors, she will start teleporting around Doug if she chases him for too long, especially around corners and rooms. Nevertheless, Doug can still listen to her teleportation cue and quickly avoid any possible paths she might have entered.

In Easy Mode, Agatha uses her teleportation ability much frequently. This can be at times useful since Doug can send her in any room that he likes by looking at any direction he wants her to be in (this only happens if she's chasing Doug).

After Doug collects the last shard, Agatha will tell Doug that she'll never let him get the ring piece. Unlike most other enemies, she will continue her despawn until he finally collects the ring piece.

Final Act[]

Once Doug collects the ring piece, Agatha closes all the doors in the room he's in and teleports inside, chastising him for stealing her friends, eventually warning Doug that "Daddy" (a.k.a Malak) is coming for him now before teleporting away.

In the final act, both Agatha and Malak will go after Doug immediately, forcing Doug to escape while simultaneously avoiding fake portals Agatha set around Zone 1. If Doug tries to enter the auditorium through the shortest path available, Agatha will close off the door before he gets inside.

Once Doug is inside, Agatha teleports in front of him and closes off all the doors, attempting to keep him with her forever. She then teleports away and makes all the chairs disappear, make the room darker and beginning her fight with Doug. During the fight, she'll teleport around Doug to taunt him for a little bit, eventually chasing after him for a little bit, forcing Doug to use his Speed Boost whenever the latter starts running. She starts the process again repeatedly, each time summoning several fake portals around the auditorium to hinder Doug's movement.

After a while, Bierce finally reopens the exit to the portal, causing Agatha to scream in fury at her predicament and chase Doug to the portal for the final time.

Chapter 4[]

After Mascot Mayhem[]

After Malak invades Bierce's Ballroom and recovers from her attacks, his clones transform into the monsters Doug encountered in the previous chapters, including Agatha. As Bierce stumbles in disbelief, Agatha teleports onto her and stabs her through the chest with her fingers. After leaving her on the floor, she proceeds to taunt her, greeting Doug on all 4's as Malak approaches her. She continues to treat Malak as a father figure, which he reciprocates by allowing her to slaughter Bierce later. After complaining about not being allowed to do so immediately, Agatha continues to taunt the wounded Bierce. She is then warded off along with the other monsters after Bierce unleashes the power of her ring piece.

Bearly Buried[]

Agatha does not make any physical appearance in this level, however in one of dialogues from Malak, she has a small conversation in which Malak denies to let Agatha watch Doug collect soul shards and orders her to stop annoying him. There's also several plushes of Agatha on the Trigger Teddies' beds, one of which is held by one of the teddies.

Abilities[]

Enhanced Senses[]

From a first glance, Agatha seems to only possess enough hearing capability to hear Doug open doors. In actuality, her hearing is strong enough to detect Doug's breathing regardless of his general position. This makes hiding from her impossible since she'll eventually find Doug anyway.

Besides hearing, she also has an enhanced sense of smell, and is acute enough to recognize certain smells (e.i. the scent of the Murder Monkeys on Doug).

Teleporting[]

Agatha is able to teleport into any location she wants, allowing her to bypass any obstacles in her way or cut off escape routes. While teleporting, she makes purple sparks and black mist.

Telekinesis[]

Agatha possesses the ability to use telekinesis on any object she wants, but chooses not to use it at first, likely to make the game more fair. During her escape sequence, she finally decides use it against Doug via blocking off an entrance to the stage room, and right before her boss fight she moves the chairs inside to help make room to run.

Fake Portal Creation[]

Agatha can summon fake portals at will. They appear scribbly with a drawing of her face on them, and "Portal" is spelled as "Portol".

Invulnerability[]

In Nightmare Mode, Agatha becomes invulnerable to damage, making Primal Fear useless against her. Outside this form, however, she can be stunned like many other monsters.

Peak human strength[]

Agatha is powerful enough to violently injure and kill grown-ups with one swipe of her huge claws, despite her small size. This is not only demonstrated in her jumpscares, but also in the pre-Bearly Buried cutscene, as she is capable of stabbing Bierce with just her fingers to get her on the ground. She can also bite down on her victim's face to kill them.

Fighting[]

Agatha is a very good fighter despite her age, as shown in Monsters & Mortals, and the cutscene before Bearly Buried, as she teleports on top of Bierce and wrestles her for a short time before stabbing her.

Relationships[]

Malak[]

Agatha was adopted by Malak in the afterlife when she was sacrificed to him by Bierce. Due to his treatment of her, Agatha sees him as a father figure, even calling him "Daddy". If necessary, she'll often ask him permission to perform sadistic and masochistic acts against his enemies.

Bierce[]

Agatha has a great grudge and hatred to Bierce, for sacrificing her to a wish ritual. Upon meeting Bierce for the first time since then, she almost immediately attacks and wounds her, only stopping likely out of Malak's behest. This is shown in a drawing where Agatha makes fun of Bierce.

Victor[]

Presumably, Agatha has known Victor in her earthly life. He was the person who helped Bierce to make her wish ritual and sacrifice Agatha, likely bearing a grudge against him as well.

Doug Houser[]

Agatha has a wry and ironic relationship with Doug. Although she sees him as a playtime friend, she knows the purpose of why he came in her school and will kill him at any opportunity. Despite this, she doesn't neglect to call him "Friend", saying that she wants to share her pain with his and offers to let him join the souls trapped with her.

Elise Houser[]

In her notes, Agatha shows a similar disdain for Elise, and is seemingly aware of her current situation. She still takes the time to lead her around the nastier school, hoping to feed off the fear she exudes.

Monsters & Mortals[]

Agatha returns as a playable monster in the Monsters & Mortals multiplayer game.

As a Monster of the Speed Class Agatha is efficient at collecting soul shards in Shard Mayhem, pursuing mortals in Maze Escape, having little to no attack cooldown, and being tied as the fastest character speed in the game but, she has the least amount of health of all other monsters, and does low damage. Agatha can easily outrun and kill mortals, due to their differences in health and damage. Her attacks are also quicker and more agile, compensating for her low damage output. This makes her great for running and attacking quickly but, poor in combat against Power Mortals and other Monsters. She attacks by using her sharp claws.

Her ultimate ability, "Hello Friend!", allows her to quickly teleport to the player with the lowest health, strike them, and return to her original position. This is highly efficient in the aforementioned mode, as most mortals, especially in the speed or balanced classes, are probably going to have 80 HP or less when attacked.

To make up her low damage output, it is best to use the "Frenzy Mode" item from the Portal Boxes whenever possible to boost her overall damage output, as well as "Primal Fear", "Speed Drain", and "Banana Peel" to slow down or stun her opponents. To increase her chances of survivability, remember to use the "Med Kit" or "Invincibility" items.

Againts on Sora's Team[]

Agatha is here to help Xehanort and others on her father's orders but she has the toughest enemies like Rokuro that doesn't even like her way too tragic even though they are same but Rokuro very hate her way especially Agatha have strong archenemy is Ohkawa, Yoichi, Ooyama, 3-E Class, Riki, and the other same kids in Sora's team are the culprits that make her angry especially after Ohkawa, Yoichi, Ooyama , Nagisa, Itona, Isogai, Kimura, Maehara, Karma that make angered her by using Agatha's portal as their weapon to prank her back by making him fall into his own trap which annoyed him with them based on Karma's plan.
